He's staying in the game and playing pro ball, but will he ever get to the big time? Takes a little luck along with ability. For our program's sake, I hope he does make it. We can use all the good pub we can get. Derek Fisher can't play forever.

Don't recall UALR getting much publicity from Derek's years in the league. As many times as I've seen him play on TV, I can't remember ever hearing the announcers saying that he played at UALR. I've seen it in print a time or two.

I've seen Fish play a number of times in the NBA. The announcer always says "From Arkansas-Little Rock...Derek Fisher". Doesn't hurt.

Solo was a very good Sun Belt player, who could of and did play at a higher level (i.e. Big East). He is not good enough to play in the NBA. James White looks like he may have the tools necessary, but it is so tough to make an NBA roster. I was hoping WN might have the ability to make it, but he is going to have to really step it up to even get a Summer League invitation. That is sometimes all it takes (i.e. BJ Young wasn't drafted but signed a contract with the Houston Rockets after his summer league performance).

I don't see Solo in the NBA. Just a guess.

If he is, it'll be by buying a ticket to get in. Just a guess also. As Mickey said, he was a Sun Belt player, and it didn't hurt to be the coaches pet. He could do no wrong.
