Early League games next year?
I cant say for sure, but as of right now Idaho, Georgia Southern, Cajuns, and ULM all have open dates scheduled for 9/6 next year, and all of their nonconference schedules are complete.

Since I cant imagine the league having 4 open dates week 2, my guess is that we're going to have a very early league game involving at least two of those teams.

Nice. Looking forward to beating ULL. Surely Benson will give us the chance for hudz to eat crow regarding his FCS remarks.

Until MTSU and FAU left early, USA was suppose to open up this year @ Georgia State.

I don't think it will happen, but I'd love to host the Cajuns at OUR HOUSE in year one.

Yes, that would be an exciting game to kickoff the Sun Belt era.

As long we are in this Conference I want Georgia Southern to be successful and so will Coach Hudspeth. The perception around the country is that we are the bottom of the barrel and a start up Conference for FCS Universities....It will be used against every University in recruiting. It may not be fair but there it is. The answer to this is to skull drag every OOC that we all play....especially AAC and CUSA Universities. Coach Hudspeth expressed his concerns on this matter. He did not call out any University by name.....hope you guys have a successful season

Early league games will put Idaho and NMSU at a disadvantage in terms of new coaches implementing systems and even weather if they are on the road. Not in a huge way, but I guess it's part of the fun of being the new kids on the block.

I'm not sure he even attends games. He's the sole survivor of 3 idiots who berated GS Athletics the last several years and make outrageous statements about GS football. "Walter" has already been banned on this site and "eagleskins" is his disciple who manages to stay just on this side of the line when it comes to getting banned on other sites, but he's banned from GSUfans. GSU Eagles or GATA Erk as he is known on GSUfans will probably be the next and only third person to be banned on that site in it's 20+ years of operation, but that's for Eagle 22 to decide and he's a really nice and tolerant guy.

We are more likely to open at home against a Louisiana FCS school. As a long standing conference member in good standing, we have earned that deference.

I wouldn't be entirely sure about this. Since I doubt we have 4 teams on bye that week, and I highly doubt they give you ULM that early, my guess is that one of you will play that week in beautiful Satesboro, GA.

You know Benson wants to give App and Georgia Southern both decent home games early in the schedule to introduce them to SBC football.

Try comprehending better. ULM is usually always late in the season for us based on some misguided notion of rivalry.

We will have Southern (jaguars) at home to start the year in 14.

I think we will be Ga Southern first home FBS game and App will travel to us. That's JMO. No facts to back it up.

We tend to be schools first home FBS game
See WKU, Ga State this year and I want to say we were USAs first home FBS conference game.

I'm not sure here. Your nonconference schedule is very tight next year with most games in September. I just don't see the league giving Georgia Southern a bye on 9/6, and you guys have Duke that day.

But not TXSTs. That honor goes to ULM.
