RE: SBC Rankings Week 2
1. USA ( nice turn around from last week and a win over a CUSA team is always good)

2. Troy ( record setting night even with a weak FCS team)

3. ULM/ Texas state (solid FCS wins)

4. WKU ( bad performance but good numbers just not the final score)

5. ASU/ULL ( just not great nights)

6. Ga State ( really)

1. Texas State
1. Troy
1. ULL
1. ULM
1. WKU
1. ASU
7. USA

135. Georgia State

That's pretty much about all we know right now. Troy and Texas State are both undefeated, but both played bottom tier CUSA schools followed by bad FCS schools. The other teams have all struggled against BCS competition, but haven't faced on level competition yet. South beats a really bad CUSA school, but loses to a decent FCS school... I rank them slightly lower

Well Troy is the first of the contenders (or pretenders) to get a shot at the two time defending SBC Champs. Good luck.

Not sure of each teams injury situation but it should be a good game. If I were not busy, I might actually have went to the game.

I'm kidding of course.

That is enough SBC football for me for this year, catch you guys after the season is over to congratulate the winners , and hope at least four SBC teams make it to a bowl game.

I am sure you've got some standing back flips to pull off Thursday...we understand.

Not sure about the back flips at my age, maybe, but probably not.

The fact is, like always, I have gathered quite a following the last few months in Memphis, doing the things I do. The young men, many ex-college athletes, simply cannot believe someone my age can do the things I can do.

Of course that has been the case sent I wandered off college and the jocks at ASU introduced me to their world.

Never knew exactly why, but just guessed it was because I was more athletic than most of them and they knew I did not care.

In fact most knew, or came to know I don't like athletics or jocks, and my interest in ASU athletics has nothing to do with being a fan. Just in a promise made over 40 years ago.

I would counter that if a team has plenty of chances to score but does not, then yes indeed they do have woes to correct.

I totally agree that #2 in the conference is way too high to rank TXST right now. I also agree that our playcalling and substitutions have been frustrating to the point of hair pulling sometimes..

Ive got to ask though... what's with all the continued negativity? It's definitely not just you. BR and BFs is saturated with it. I can understand why everyone hates teis so much. However, y'all were wrong about us playing down to PV, and y'all were wrong when y'all said they'd keep it close.

i canceled my subscription to bobcat report because i got sick of hearing all the constant complaining. I hate teis too, but the team has made incredible progress the last three years. This seems to be apparent to everyone in the nation except our grandfathered fan base. What do you think the deal is?

I saw some solid running lanes, but I also saw some big deficiencies in the pass protection. We don't take deep shots often, but it really seemed like the QB's never had time to sit in the pocket.

Don't take that to mean I'm not excited about the possibilities. And I know other teams have had issues. I just think at this point, with such a young O-line (one senior, the rest are r-fresh or sophomores), they aren't where they need to be for us to be at the top of the Sun Belt. Now, the more they play together this season, I am hopeful the better they become.

I'm really excited to see how our defense holds up to some of these offenses in the Sun Belt. I think the defense is actually a decent unit now, and is only getting better the more they play together.
