Exclamation Week One Perfomance?
Did your team live up to expectations? Low points? High points?

MSU's offense was a bit of a farce against a mid-pack MAC team from WMU but the defense shined and showed why it's consistently one of the toughest defenses in the country. A win is a win and after USF's horrible loss to an FCS team I'm no longer worried about MSU being beat at home. We should be 3-1 going into conference play, hopefully 4-0 though.

Ohio State started off great, then coasted a bit too much. Giving up 20 points to Buffalo was too much and they rightfully deserved the resulting drop in the polls.

Ten point dogs at Fresno. We covered, but when you stay up all night watching a four hour game you want your team to win.

Horrible.

The tailgating was fun, the post game tailgating was alright. The game was hot and Iowa played well enough to win.

Three turnovers converted into points against, the worst being the final turnover.

Oh well, Missouri State this week. It's gonna be another hot one at Kinnick for me.

Not just coasting ... hit by cramping in the heat as well. They say that's odd, since the home team is normally more acclimated to the local weather, but its been a wet summer and the August practices might not have been as sweltering as we are used to.

But that's an aside. The Cleveland Plains Dealer columnist Bill "Overdue" Livingston argued that Ohio State should stop playing MAC schools, especially those outside Ohio, in football ~ but the game last Saturday argued that they really should keeping scheduling openers against the MAC, since the Buckeyes will definitely have found out unpleasant things about improvement that they need to make.

But if they learn those lessons, by December the game will just be another tick in the W column, while if they had learned those lessons in a loss, that would have been a blot all season.

I happened to watch that game. A lot of people were playing that 4th quarter off like nothing happened. If SIU had gone with the party feeling and completed that back of the endzone pass, the media would have called it a lot closer.

The comeback is definitely troubling. We will have a better idea on the Illini come Saturday
