ESPN has 30,451.

What is your source for 30,480?

I misheard. 30,451 is right. Though we are talking about 29 people here.

UAPB brought around a thousand or so Id guess. Their fans are hilarious. Down 62-0 and they return a fumble for a TD and about 100 or so of their fans break into a choreographed dance routine to celebrate. I had never seen that before.

RE: stAte attendance
USA had at least 20k, but several ticket scanners were broken and apparently they just let all the students in without getting counted as a result. Box score had 15,240 for USA. I know good and well there were WAY more than that there. The East and West side each hold 15K people, and there is NO way everyone there would have fit on just the West side. Unfortunately, with the NCAA in our hair about the way Ladd Stadium counts attendance we can't count anything that didn't get scanned... Most places have issues with schools over-counting. At USA we undercount. It's frustrating.

I sat in the midst of a group of their fans and they were pretty funny. They were all there to see the band perform. The football game was secondary in importance to them. They all left after halftime.

Do you think it was because the band was finished or their football team was. BTW I didn't think their band was all that great...musically or chorography(sp).

UAPB brought about 2,000 +/- a few hundred.

Despite being totally out-matched they didn't fall into the frustration trap of post-play shoving or trying to deal-out any head hunting.

Monte has done a great job turning that program around, tonight's result not withstanding.

A-State needs to replace the fence around the seating areas with one you can't see through. We get so many people who don't want to climb up to the upper level GA seats who stand in that area that it makes the attendance look a little less than it is.

Come on man, you usually don't post silly things like that. Talk about no breeze and ugly. It's pretty obvious that about 2000 or so stand along the fence. That's when you can tell we have a big crowd on hand. Last night, if my choices had been sit up in the nose bleeds with the sun blasting down on me or stand on the fence I would have stood on the fence. Do you think they will sell "standing room only" tickets when Missouri and Miami come to town?

I don't know about the area inside the stadium, but there were about 50 fans or more standing outside the stadium that still were able to see the game. I really wondered whether those fans even had tickets.

Of course they celebrated, this is the school that lost every game for like 6-8 years.

They aren't that team anymore. Won the SWAC last year, and should have won the title the year before. Their coach has really turned that program into something.

Except for that whole cheating in the classroom thing. Someone needs to get a handle on that fast or all that they have built since Colemon has been there will be out the window.

If you paid for a ticket, then I don't care whether you sit in your seat or stand around the fence by the end zones - I'm just glad they came, but if there are actually people able to view the games from outside the stadium, then that must get fixed fast.
