Heads up USA!
Yea, last night was a stinker but you still have plenty to play for. You could end up in your first bowl. Beaten by a 1-AA school can happen....some Appy fan needs to jump in right about here and remind us all about the Michigan game. I would light a fire under your coach because the Jags really seemed out of synch. They didn't see ready to play. To the misguided mods on this board, go ahead and give me another warning for trying to pickup a fellow Sunbelter. I really don't understand your logic.

Remember MTSU lost to an FCS school last year. They turned around and beat Georgia Tech later that season and finished second in the Belt.

I'll bite and do the required App State duty - After losing to App, Michigan went on to have a good season, beating Tebow's Gators in their bowl game. Also, I believe VT won the ACC after losing to Shenandoah Valley State Normal School for Women.

And WKU did it the year before and finished 2nd in conference (with only one loss in conference).

Losing to an FCS school sucks, but it's not the end of the season.

They lost to a better team, that always sucks

RE: Heads up USA!
It all goes back to scheduling.

Playing McNeese is a built in trap. Wasn't shocking when it happened.

SUU runs that funky triple option and it gives you fits. Just not the sort of game you want.

Of course sometimes you play someone that isn't an obvious trap and get beat, see Towson vs. UConn.

SUU didn't run the triple option.

OK..here goes: Hey...Remember that in 2007 App beat Michigan and they went on to beat Florida in the Outback Bowl!

Seriously....The Jags had some things exposed, but it's not like there is nothing to work with. That big QB that you put in is a serious athlete and when the passing game comes together, the offense could be seriously dangerous. The issues on D seem to be consistency more than lack of talent. I'm guessing that will improve next week. SUU caught you flat footed, but it's only one game. There are half a dozen things that could have gone differently for a very different outcome. Looks to me like almost all are fixable.

Keep your chins up. Everyone loses games that they shouldn't. Good luck for the remainder of the season.

Tough loss, but honestly first week games are always weird, scrimmages are helpful but first game jitters can loom large. The coaches have a LONG week to make adjustments, I expect you guys to look much better next week against Tulane.

PS: Your running back, the tiny fast one, you should keep giving him the ball.

RE: Heads up USA!
You all have to understand an FCS will enter with a chip on their shoulder and give you a ball game where you wouldn't expect it. A transitional team like USA, GaState, ODU, etc will get beaten as they move up. These teams also don't have a ton of tradition to fall back on where the winning mindset it beat into everyone from top to bottom. I expect App State and GaSou to get beat by teams we wouldn't expect but I think having built winning traditions years and years ago will help with games like this.

I wouldn't put too much trust in humanity. Many GSU fans were making fun of you. Put your trust in God. Cajun fans know how bad these loses hurt. God knows we been through enough of them. There's still plenty for USA to play for just take it easy on us USA and let us get the "W"!04-cheers

Well, all of this (almost all, anyways) sounds good, but losing to anyone sucks even if we were playing Miss. St., Tennessee, NC State or Louisiana. This one really stings though. To the goober that said we lost to a better team, well you, sir, are an idiot. Glad I got that off my chest.

Everyone looks better against Tulane. Stomp on their throats and don't let up till the 3rd quarter. They will have given up by then. Then you guys can RUT!

There is a reason schools pay fat money for a season opener they feel comfortable about winning. First game so much of your planning is guess-work.
