1) Are you sure that the TWC Channel 311 is on all of those households you mentioned? My father in law has TWC and doesn't get Channel 311. Don't you need an advanced package to get Channel 311
2) I don't remember Kentucky being included in the TWC MAC footprint...is that true?
3) I don't think you can compare to STO 2.8M- you aren't counting the people in SW Ohio that got the STO games on TWC
4) I don't think you are accounting for the fact that STO is a channel that is on people's speed dial and I am not sure anyone would ever turn on 311 by accident.
In reference to #4 above, for digital subscribers, channel 311 (or 1311 in HD) is located right in the middle of all the major sports channels - ESPN 301/1301, ESPN2 302/1302, ESPNU 303/1303, FSOhio 309/1309, etc.
I think that 311/1311 is an excellent channel position - better even than CBS College Sports at 317, for instance.

Three VB games on TWC Sports. That's three fewer that we can get streamed online if we don't want to put up with TWC.
Both JMAC Guy and Steinbrecher has both said repeatedly that anything shown on TWCS will also still be streamed for free on the MACDN. TWCS will be a better production than the regular school productions on MACDN too.

When does the MAC TV deal with ESPN expire?
I thought it was 2016 but this article says 2016-17. Does that mean an expiration date of June 30, 2017?

Usually deals are negotiated about a year in advance too so its likely a new deal would be in place by the fall of 2016, IMO. Some have been suggesting an extension between the MAC and ESPN out to 2020 could happen soon but we haven't heard anything for a while.

I thought it was the fiscal year but if it is the "Spring season" basketball ends March/April. So some time between April and June of 2017, the deal is set to expire. Thanks.

College broadcast deals line up with the official NCAA calendar, which is 1 July to the end of June. That's why all the conference shuffling for a year is made official on 1 July.

Actually the current contract was done I believe two years out.
They do not like to get into a negotiating corner or box by getting to late into the contract.
I don't think these contracts have the adversarial nature of a UAW-Big 3 automobile contracts.
MAC wants ESPN and ESPN wants the MAC. I actually like the word 'partner'. What is good for the MAC is also good for ESPN.

RE: Time-Warner-Cable Sports and MAC
I noticed this which was not previously announced:
"Ball State @ Eastern Michigan will be also available in select Time Warner Cable and Brigh House markets to sports tier customers. Bright House: Bakersfield (147); Birmingham (406); Elmore (762); Central Florida (208); Detroit (406); Indianapolis (406); Tampa (823). Time Warner Cable: Upstate New York (1552); Central New York (398); Carolinas (518); New York City (197); New England (1552); Southwest Ohio (315)."
TWC broadcast the ESPN3 Ball State vs EMU game in California, Carolinas, Alabama, NYC, and Florida.
Did I miss this before? Perk of the new TWCS Regional agreement?
http://www.mac-sports.com/MobileWeb/Mobi...eek-4.aspx
Pretty interesting if this becomes a regular thing. The original announcement with TWCS did say select programming would be broadcast nationally. I guess here is an example of this. Would be great if all these games start popping up from California to Florida where TWC is.

Interesting.
It is too late for this game, but I believe DirecTV has TWC from So. Ca.
Maybe DirecTV viewers could have seen the game??????

That's not new. TWC has been showing ESPN3 games for several years now. I wouldn't count on a huge audience from it. You have to subscribe to an extra tier to get that channel and it doesn't even show up in the on-screen guide.

Sounds similar to the Kansas Jayhawk deal they just signed with TWCS and ESPN3.

I just noticed that every MAC game that isn't on another channel such as BTN is on ESPN3 for the next two weeks.

No, it's not at all similar to that.
TWCS is a Time Warner owned-and-operated regional sports network. They signed a deal with Kansas to show third tier KU games there just like TWCS here shows some UB/Canisius/Niagara games.
Time Warner also offers two channels which show some ESPN3 games, which are only available to people who buy an additional tier of channels.

RE: Time-Warner-Cable Sports and MAC
This Satuday:
Kent State @ Western Michigan, 7:00 pm, ESPN3
Kent State vs. Western Michigan:
Bright House: Bakersfield (147); Birmingham (406); Elmore (BHM 762); Central Florida (208); Detroit (406); Indianapolis (406); Tampa (823).
Time Warner Cable: Upstate New York (1552); Central New York (398); Carolinas (518); New York City (197); New England (1552); Southwest Ohio (315).
Question for Zibby (or anybody)
So if you have a sports pack and TWC or Bright House cable in any of these areas you also get the Kent vs WMU game on cable?
I don't remember seeing this before. I think this is good.
Looks like every week TWC is doing this for a MAC game.
This is not one of the previous 3 games released but can be watched throughout New York, Florida, Detroit, Carolinas....

Why is that Chicago is still not included with this package? I saw some tape delayed volleyball games were announced, but why not football? The NIU Kent game is slated for TWC next week but still no Chicago option mentioned.

From what I read on the MAC website the first TWC game this week will be televised
Live in Ohio for those that get TWC and BCSN
Live in Erie, PA for those that get TWC
Live in Rockford,IL on one of those digitial tier channels
ESPN Gameplan/ESPN3...but blacked out in Ohio (which is very disappointing because the Commissioner said the exact opposite about black outs during the MAC media days)
Delayed in Chicago and Milwaukee (lame)
Seems like less distribution that I was expecting

RE: Time-Warner-Cable Sports and MAC
NIU vs Kent game is on ESPN3 and also the MAC-Sports website for those who have ESPN3 blacked out in Ohio because of TWC SportsChannel. So Ohio DirecTV and Dish customers as well as NIU fans without access to ESPN3 have viewing options.
