Deters was on 700 WLW, The Big One, the Nation Station and said the the Hamilton County Prosecutor personally told Godfather Graham that Wells' expulsion would come back to haunt X and that there was insufficient evidence to do anything.

You may want to ask Dez if he intends to fire Graham after he owns X.

Lastly, please enjoy playing your future games in the Dez Wells Center after he kicks Cintas to the curb as well.

I wish you all nothing but the best in the ACC next year!

Last year was the first year with "all Chris Mack" kids. How did that work out? Before that, he was coaching Miller's kids.

Love Mack. That deer in headlights look kills me. Since Miller's recruits are gone and apparently Father Graham is putting the end to "gangsta's," good luck with the little engine that could.

Maybe someday the academic fraud will come to light.

Semaj was Mack's Kid. Highest Recruit in Xavier's History. Also a local kid. Cronin slept on him Mack locked him up. He had offers from everyone at the end and stayed committed. I couldn't be happier with the talent he's brought in.

But seriously, you have to be a bit concerned. You have had more decommits than commits the last couple years and the guys Mack has signed, with the exception of Christon, are all role players.

You are going to have to play some big boy teams now in conference. Do you really think you can continue to get by with a roster cobbled together with transfers and walk ons? Remember, you can't take academic non-qualifier guys like Mark Lyons and Jalen Reynolds anymore. And the last few years you have had A LOT of guys like that on your roster.

What happens when Chris Mack can't take the guys big programs wanted but couldn't take due to academic issues?

As far as I can tell, your highest rated recruit ever is Semaj Christon. Georgetown gets at least one and often multiple guys as highly rated pretty much every year. I don't put a ton of stock in player ratings, but it does beg the question: Can you compete with Georgetown, Marquette and Villanova with Dee Davis, Jalen Reynolds, Kamall Richards, Brandon Randolph and Edmond Sumner?

The big east is no longer a 7- plus bid conference. With the exception of Georgetown and perhaps the newly minted Marquette the perennial top 25, shoe-in NCAA teams are gone. You are going to have to finish in the top 4 (maybe even top 3!) to be secure in an NCAA bid.

Gone are the days when you can loaf through your dismal conference schedule and emerge as a bubble team with the comfort of still being able to get your bid by winning your equally dismal conference tournament.

Just my .02 but without markedly better recruiting, quickly, you guys are heading for a long stretch of .500-.600 winning percentage basketball.

I don't think we'll ever be a .500 again. Just because our Non Conference will be a lot easier. We won't be quite at what UC's looks like. But still similar in terms of a bunch of Buy games of 100-200 RPIs not 250+.

Recruiting wise: My only concern is it will take a little while to ramp up recruiting. That said we have the staff to do it. Dez was Xavier's highest recruit ever. Next year what happens? He gets Semaj xavier's highest recruit ever.

I'm not worried about the decommitments. Honestly we've had kids just decommit because our league was week. Look at DSR (Big East Rookie of the year) had X been in the Big East he'd have been on our team but we weren't. Swift decommitment? That's the staff saying they can do better. Which I'm fine with.

Xavier has always been about developing the players anyway not bringing in top recruits. Look at D. West, Derrick Brown, Tu Holloway. Guys I'm sure most of you hate. But they developed into great players.

The last 3 years with Cincinnati being an NCAA tournament team, Cincinnati has beat X 2 out of 3 with UC having a 3-3 tournament record to X being 2-2 in the tournament.

Whoa now, you assume DSR would have been a muskie if X had been in the BE? Please notify the Georgetown people you are now on par with them, I am sure they would get a kick out of that.

I do agree that Xavier, prior to Chris Mack was about developing players and in the cases you mentioned that worked out well. None of the players you mentioned are Mack's recruits, so we will see what happens as far as development to "his guys".

IMO 5 or 6 emerge from the BE to at-large tourney bids next year:
Gtown, Marq, Vill, Creighton solidly with St. Johns one of the last 5 or 6 in and Butler on the bubble.

You guys edge out Providence for the 7th in the conference and neither make the tournament.

Depaul is awful - no need to enter them into the conversation.

Fact is we can keep going back and forth the beauty of statistics is all how you frame it. Has UC had a good 3 years? Decent I'd say yes. Have they had a good 10 years? Nope.

What is the deal with x fans constant need to compare themselves to UC? They never take responsibility for the ills of their players and institution.

The beauty of everything is the games need to played no matter what. So we'll see what happens. I'm not saying we for sure make the tournament next year because we have some holes and the competition will step up. That's for certain. I'm glad you have your opinion and I have mine. But DSR was committed until his father got in his ear about playing in a more visible league.

Tu Holloway Developed 100% under Mack. He went from a top 150 recruit to an All American in 3 years. He did well under Miller but it was under Mack that we saw his growth.

That said Yeah Sean Miller is a better coach than Mack. No doubt. But I love Mack. Love that he's from Cincinnati and that he has risen through our ranks from player to director of basketball operations, to assistant coach to associate coach to head coach.

I hope Cronin stays at UC and I don't think he's a good coach (shocker) I mean you guys have a weak OOC schedule and that has hurt you a lot the last couple years. That has to change now that your conference is nowhere near as strong. I also think Cronin just can't really field a great team, he can't seem to get those really good shooters.

Is Kilpatrick good? Yes, is he great? No. He won't be a first rounder (or a draft pick?) because he's not efficient at all and is a pure volume shooter. He'll score 25 points. But it will be on 20+ baskets.

I'm interested to see what Jermaine Lawerence will do. Very excited to see him up against Jaylen Reynolds these next 3-4 years (both have a lot of pro potential).

Xavier since Mack arrived and took over an elite 8 team (by the way, the team he took over was supposed to be X's most talented team ever according to their fans):

Year.........KenPom Rank...........NCAA Seed (what that seed suggests)
2010...............14..........................6 (21st-24th best team in the country)
2011...............45..........................6 (21st-24th)
2012...............51..........................10 (37th-40th)
2013...............79.......................Didn't even make the NIT (LOL)

Great direction Mack is taking the program that was humming when he took over.

Was X dealt a death sentence in basketball in the last 10 years? Even in one of the worst 10 year periods for UC BB xavier only went 6-4 against Cincinnati. MC has UC back to being the BEST BB team in town, next step is becoming a top 10 team nationally. X fans usually only talk limited time frames as well because they become second fiddle when they start talking about final fours, championships, record vs Cincinnati, etc...
