Tennessee is one of the worst in the country on civil forfeiture and taxation through citation. Eastern TN is nice, but Knoxville is a case study in mill economies gone bust. Memphis is okay but not much outside of Beale.

I think you're missing a bit here, especially wrt Eastern TN. My corporate HQ is in Knoxville. Beautiful area, cost of living is good. Loads of culture. Economy isn't near as dire as you think. No state income tax, favorable corporate tax (by comparison anyway).

He's talking rural East TN like where I'm from. Personally I loathe Knoxville.

All good bourbon comes from KY. Louisville is a good town and bowling green makes corvettes. Eastern Ky has coal and oxycontin.

I like North Carolina in part because we have the ocean at one end and the mountains at the other. I can be at Holden Beach in less than 2&1/2 hours, and Boone in less than 3&1/2. We also have state parks and historic sites everywhere. The arts are appreciated here with concerts and festivals within a short drive. There are bluegrass and blues jams going on all over and a state supported symphony, along with symphonies in most cities. I like calling North Carolina home.

true, but there's some good hiking. haven't gotten too much east of red river gorge to experience the charms. and it's always particularly frustrating (or amusing) when you run into one of kentucky's archaic laws. have you ever been to rabbit hash? the mayor is in fact a dog.

I picked Carolina as well.

It's nice. You can be in a central location and be just as far from the mountains as the beach.

I loved going to Asheville when I was living in Johnson City. Apparently the Western Carolina mountains are the go-to escape for Atlantans. I see billboards and commercials for it all the time here.

Ashville is for hippies and queers. I am going to Hawkins co in the fall to kill me some black bears and eat some pals.

Asheville is great if you like beer and food. Again, I agree about the dirty hippies but the town is fun to play around in for a weekend.

i believe you've established that. you don't like the company of people with lifestyles different from your own. you choose whom you want to congregate with based upon the assumption of shared beliefs and values. i congratulate you.

on a side note, you're a cannibal and what's the best cut of black bear and is it good eatin'?

what about arizona and new mexico? i feel the south has a culture distinct all its own. from the mason dixon line to north of florida and east of texas. that's the south in my mind. oklahoma and texas to me bring in mind more of the pioneer west
