Maybe we'll see quite a bit of improvement.........I really expect it. Transition years are usually tough.

I'll say it again. I think we're going to be better than expected this season.

I didn't realize that Howard was as big as he is & I even saw him in a game last year.
With all of the talent on offense combined with a new group of LB's I would like to see the results in the win column.

RE: Jackie Williams is gone
None of us at this distance can say for sure why this dismissal was done the way it worked out being done, but the team sure knows a lot more than any of us. If they see it as the coach's problem, it could turn out badly for this season. If they see it as William's problem, it may "clear the decks" for a better season. All we can do is watch it all play out over the next months. See you at the games.

I don't want to see any QB rotation. I am of the group that thinks if you have 2 QB's, you have no QB. Pick a guy, and stick with him, unless a) an injury occurs, or b) you are pulling the guy for good.(Like Tony Romo for Drew Bledsoe)
I also think that McGee leaving an injured Brown in several games was a lot more indicative of what he thought of JP than what he thought of Brown.

Rotating was a poor choice of words on my part.........I remember Spurrier rotating his QB's by the play one game (lol). Sticking with the starter is fine, as long as his isn't injured, and is a sitting duck (Memphis game), or a game when he looks to be throwing it up for grabs. Brown looked really good at times, we'll see how it goes.

Playing an injured QB last season was just ridiculous. I completely disagreed with Coach on that decision.

I did too, and so did the players.......that's one reason why they got clobbered 46-9 to a 2 win team.

We were getting better and showing momentum, too.
Memphis was probably better than us going in, but not 40 points better.
We never got off the bus. A complete and total breakdown. If I'm antsy about McGee at all, it's the egg we laid against Memphis. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, though, and chalk it off as a lesson learned (unless it happens again).

And Tulane. It also seemed like the team started off slow in most games. I'm just looking for more consistency across the board this season. We should flashes of greatness at time last year, and then we should flashes of whatever the hell the Memphis game was.

Tulane was bad too, but at least the offense did OK. No excuse to give up 55 to Tulane.......ever. With that said, I'm looking for some real improvement on defense. I can't wait for the season to get here!

Maybe that is the attitude and culture that need to be changed. IIRC he said a couple of times that practice was pathetic that week.

If we take care of the ball, we beat Tulane. We were never in the Memphis game.

True, the Memphis game was a disaster of historical proportions. I hope I never have to witness a game like that again anytime soon!

RE: Jackie Williams is gone
All first season (at a school) coach should get the same "slack" Bama gave Saban after losing to UL Monroe in his first season. There are more than one "first season WTF losses" among many coaches who are not totally familiar with their personnel (and their personalities / capabilities) until the second season with the team. It would be less expected in year two but a one game gaffe can still occur in year 2. A lot can be attributed to another FBHC getting lucky with new personnel who surprise.
