What makes you think that NIU grads are so poor? The major part of alums don't contribute at all or very little to NIU. That doesn't mean they aren't well off. When, or if, pride in NIU is established among the masses, funds will be there.

I didn't say anything about anyone being poor. I said NIU could hardly fund 10% of Oregon's $68 million project because NIU had trouble funding their own $10 million project. It took a trip to the Orange Bowl for Chessick to give even more money than he wanted to.

every team who is really serious about recruiting , needs a locker room barbershop with custom Italian furniture.....that should close the deal just about every time

Boy, seems the NCAA really needs to change those rules for BCS/Big 5 conferences. They really have their hands tied and have to play by the same rules as all the others, especially when it comes to spending. Seems to be really costing them in their limitations of their 40...50....60 million dollar complexes. Has to be hurting them, just not sure how.

Would be nice if Diesel uses Fleck as a fire hydrant.

I'm sure it helps with recruiting big time but it sure puts a bigger target on their back.
