1) You were connected with UConn and not a Memphis Tiger fan,
2) The speculation didn't take the wild leap of connecting UConn with the Pac12, and...
3) Didn't misspell INDEPENDENT in the title.

But seriously, I know there has been some discussion bantered about in UC circles as to whether UC may explore the Independent FB route. Consensus is that would be a route of last resort, but everything is on the table.

ND and BYU have national followings that are outside of living in the area or attending those schools, UConn doesn't have that draw.

This is really just comical. If there was a 25 million a year TV deal available as an independent they'd be going independent right this second and not waiting for some split that isn't even that likely to happen. I guess FromTheInside is the new Dude.

SNY already has an alternate channel just available in CT too. They barely use it now but if something like this were true, I'm sure it would get tons of inventory.

If UConn could get 25-30 million for TV wouldn't they be independent already?

Based on the way you formatted this list, this phrase reads: "I suppose I would take your information a lot more seriously if didn't spell INDEPENDENT in the title." The "You" should have been before #1, not part of it.

Maybe we are. You have to get the scheduling deals worked up before you can determine if it's even feasible or not. I have no idea if this is true or just some wild fantasy, but if there's any truth to it, I supsect UConn is on it's way out of the AAC.

That why it would make sense that we sign a long term exclusive deal with a large regional sports network. A national outlet doesn't make sense for us, but SNY would be perfect.

Yeah that's what this hair brained rumor says, that UCONN can get more in an indy deal than the entire AAC is worth. If that were true they'd already be independent.
