I was just looking at B/R on MLS expansion cities other than the all but announced Miami deal and the probable addition of Orlando. #1 was St. Louis and the article notes they don't have a team on the 2nd or 3rd rung of the US soccer pyramid, the reason for that is their lower tier teams went bankrupt from poor support. The city doesn't have a suitable stadium nor a potential owner. They can't be #1. Then #2 is San Diego. There has been some talk of Chivas relocating there, but they don't have a potential stadium. Not an awful pick but unlikeyish. #3 was Las Vegas and the writer notes the need for a retractable roof venue. Who is building a retractable roof 20,000 seat venue?

No mention of Atlanta?

Nor Minneapolis which also has an NFL owner saying he wants a team for his new stadium.

Probably right.
Do believe different mascots are great. Believe Big Red is an example of how they can be a positive influence.

Let's go ahead and add Miami/Atlanta/Nashville/Minneapolis and get to 24. Add Atlanta, Miami, Nashville and New York FC to the east, add Minneapolis to the west(as well as slide over Sporting KC and either Chicago Fire or Houston Dynamo).

Hate for SKC to go west, even though I wouldn't mind being in the same division as the Seattle Dorks. Not sure officiating is up to SKC and RSL playing multiple games per season.

Who out of SKC, HD and CF will push west when NYCFC joins? Has that been announced?

Logically it would be Houston. Puts them in the same division as Dallas and they are the westernmost member of the East.

That guy must have fallen off his perverbial Bleacher. WKU Big Red Blob (dot, or whatever its called) is a classic and I got a kick out of seeing him bounce around Cajun Field.. As for us and Nebraska, they are cultural symbols. So I guess he has problems with our cultures. Go figure..

To me names like Fighting Irish, Mountaineers, Cornhuskers, Ragin Cajuns etc. are unique because it has something to do with the region the university is in. According to this article they have Ragin Cajuns, Vandals, Green Wave and Hilltoppers in the top 27 nicknames. This article actually explains each nicknames history, and why it was chosen

5.Vandals
6. Ragin Cajuns
24. Hilltoppers
27. Green Wave

The BleacherReport boob doesn't even know what he's talking about. He refers to the Hilltoppers as our mascot name. That's not correct. Our mascot is Big Red. Hilltoppers is what our teams are called.

UL needs to change its mascot from the pepper to a gator and be done with it. I did love the Cajun Chicken back in the day

A gator would signify Louisiana more in a lot of people's minds, but guess they have not since a lot of people think of U of Florida when they think of the gator right now.
Guess the Pepper should immediately make people think of great Cajun food, but most think of hot when they think of Pepper, but spicy is probably the second thing they think of.
Always thought GaSo should change from the Eagles to the Gnats, but that just because of personal experiences.

Didn't realize this until a friend pointed it out today, but apparently Bleacher Report does sometimes get it right when it comes to mascots:

I give you Bleacher Report

Exactly. Bleacher Report is garbage. But, what do you expect when you let anyone write "articles."

Reading some of the hysterical articles about division splitting from "real" reporters, I'm not sure B/R does that bad.
