USM is an early 9.5 favorite. I'd hardly call that heavily favored. Texas State won as a 34.5 point dog against Houston last year.

USM will beat TXST badly. Ark will win at home vs ULL. WKU-UK is a toss up, and the SBC's best shot at an upset on opening weekend. An App St at Montana would definitely be an upset. I don't see it happening though.

There you go little fella, fixed it for you. The only thing I can't fix is that glaring prediction you made. We may be beaten come AUG 31st, but it wont be badly. I honestly think we take this team in MS and chalk up another win for the better conference.

We'll see. I just think that USM, with it's new head coach Todd Monken, will be a very hungry team coming off an 0-12 season. They have a lot of talent on that team and will be playing for redemption. You guys will be walking into a hornet's nest on August 31.

The notion made earlier that Louisiana has better coaches and players is just simply not true. Arkansas has the ability to beat Louisiana on talent alone, even with new schemes. After going 28-1 against SBC teams, Arkansas is not going to lose the next one right after the first one. A lot of upsets and close games against AQ teams are because they don't get fired up to play us. I can assure you that won't be the case, the Razorbacks will be highly motivated for this game.

Hogs are going to go off tackle right off tackle left, sweep left, sweep right 70% of the game. Cajuns are almost certainly going to have to put 8 in the box and whether playing zone or man the corners and safeties are going to have to be able to do their job without linebacker help.

UL's fate rests on the defense.

You really think UT-Knoxville will be that much better? I recall they basically had to out score a middle of the pack SBC team last fall just to win the game.
