Exclamation RE: WKU UK game to be televised.
I think I remember hearing that ESPN wanted to air on 2 or U but wanted to move it to Noon start time. Glad WKU/UK didn't give in to ESPN if it's true. ESPNN still counts as a national game too.

Just make it two in a row. It will prove the "seperation model". "The lower schools in the SEC are seperating (in the wrong direction) from the upper schools in the SEC, the CUSA, the SBC, the MAC, etc..".

I am watching this thread closely gents. Any off ticks into personal attacks will result in warnings being given to the parties involved.

Just so we are clear of this now.

Does espnnews still come on most basic cable packages? Not attacking the post but curious.

Our basic package only has 1 and 2. But any package above gives the U , news and one other I think.
Personally I could care less if it is on espn or not. Less tv mean more butts in the seats.

Yes. It's held in Nashville at LP field (titans stadium) which is about 60 miles south of WKU's campus. WKU usually has a game in basketball or now football about every other year in Nashville. WKU fans get a nice night on the town and travel very well there. Most expect 55-65k for this game with the split being 25k WKU and 30-40k UK

Nice, my boss is a UK grad, but I'm not sure if she even knows they have a football team.

We had a game against West Virginia last year at Fed Ex (where the Skins play) and it was a blast. Probably like 30k WVU to our 15 and it was pretty much over by the second quarter, but it was fun nonetheless. One thing is for sure, WVU fans know how to throw them back.

It is on most regular cable packages. BG cable comes with a BASIC package with like 3-10 channels, my sister runs that and netflix

Two new coaches and a Saturday game rather than a Thursday going to more than double the attendance from the last time the game was at LP?

along with WKU not royally sucking, yes.

The Saturday game outside of either market goes a long way.

Agreed on both counts, though I think 65k(especially 40k from UK) may be expecting a little much(though I wouldn't call it unreachable given all the factors), and I wouldn't be shocked if it were more like 40k(25/15). If I had to bet I'd put it at between 45k-50k, still not a bad turnout(better than our game against Louisville there years ago).

On a related note, what's your confidence level for this game on a scale of 1(no way you win) to 10(no way you lose)?

UK will bring 200,000 on their own...just ask them. I think more WKU fans will show up than we expect. There will be SOME other shades of red there too. I know a family between Nville and MEM, diehard porkies will be coming too! I see about 55k (30/25 uk/wku) After 2: (8/30). The five thousand fakes will take of their blue and put it away until next year.

I am around a 9. My biggest worry is Qb, but Doughty and Fishback will both be solid IMO. UK just lost their RB to Achilles. Cue the Smith to Dowling connection from last season.

RE: WKU UK game to be televised.
ESPNN is not on the basic with Time Warner, granted the basic is like 30 channels for $30 a month.

As a WKU fan, my confidence is around a 7.5. Beating them one more time to even the series 2-2 will be really nice before UK doesn't renew.
