RE: Buckle up
Who has asked for your respect or claimed App has done anything for the SBC. Continue to attempt to make this thread about what App and GSU haven't done vs. prove what ULL has done. Deflection is your strongest point in a debate that isn't about anything but ULL.
Fact is the Sun Belt in the short term may be very kind to ULL. According to you, you should win 9 or more games vs. a watered down conference. That means more wins, more championships, more bowl games. All of that means more momentum and donations pouring into your athletic fund. Think about it.

I couldn't agree more (with one little homerism change). One thing that you'll have to keep in mind is that the fan bases of both schools have been used to being "top dog" not only in our conference but in our entire division for going on 20 years (some hiccups aside for both schools for a brief time). Moving from being the envy of most schools we play(ed) to being the runt of the litter is a foreign concept to a lot of fans of both.
Especially considering that both fan bases are represented in the digital age by people who became fans of said schools AFTER the success both schools had on the field. Not saying that those people are fair-weather fans or anything, it's just the natural progression of things for those that were born in the last 30-35 years. They simply don't remember what it was like being the the runt in the early to mid 80's. When you're going on 28+ years of being (one of) the best, it's natural to expect some arrogance.

I get it you, I wasn't excited about Elon or Samford when they joined the SoCon. The difference is those programs didn't have winning traditions. They didn't have attendance, season ticket sales, donation levels, and large fanbases compared to us. We will likely lose 50% of our conference games the first two years, but you are going to be surprised by the caliber of program the Sun Belt has and the passion our fanbase has for our Mountaineers.
Saint3333, if you go back and read this thread you will find I gave App. State much credit for at least having some landmark wins over FBS programs.
Your comment concerning the 35% win percentage has some ignorance attached to it because it suggest that UL has never had back-to-back winning seasons, an ignores Big West Championships and other successful season.
I’m not sure I would be lecturing any program that had the forethought, courage or at least attempted to fund a Div 1A or FBS program, while taking the cheaper path until recently. At this point, you guys are nothing more than a name on a list of members that has accomplished absolutely nothing for this conference. UL has established a good football program, basketball program, baseball and softball programs in this conference and has earned its keep.
Bottom-line, we don’t need your permission or approval to post our opinions on this website. We have been members long before you began posting and if you don’t like what our fans post, then simply ignore it.
Thanks for your thoughtful insight!
My 35% comment isn't ignorant, it is your record from 1990 to 2010.
I know App hasn't done anything for the conference, but I'm not the one claiming to be too good for the conference either. This isn't what has ULL vs. App done for the conference, you got us there.
The point is your record does not indicate that you are too good for the SBC, maybe over the next 4 fours you'll win half of the championships due to playing such weak competition, but until then that the idea you're too good for the SBC is based on opinion not results.
No, but you are one of a few proclaiming to be just as good as those in the conference now without ever making the financial commitment until recently and while racking up wins against the likes of Elon, Samford and Western Carolina.
And for the record, I wouldn't give up the opportunity to play FBS programs at home regardless of the 35% win percentage for your vaunted D 1AA Championships. At least our university tried to bring in decent teams to Cajun Field like Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas Tech, Kansas State and Oklahoma State, not to mention many very good mid-majors. Something your fan base never experienced and could only watch on television.

I think i finally figured out what zeebart's signature "biding our time till 2015" means. That is the year the Cajuns win their first ever outright Sun Belt football title.
What do I win, Zee?

It is a little funny how a perennial bottom feeder like ULL, except the last two years, is dictating policy like they are Charlie fking Bronson.

The best part of this whole thread is that GaSo fans truly believe they will dominate at the FBS level. You guys will be lucky to win 3 games against FBS teams that have been FBS for at least 10 years. Y'all will win some games against other transitional teams, but it will be at least 5 years before y'all beat Troy, stAte, Louisiana or any other established FBS program.
By the way, love that rich running through y'all campus.

Thanks. Yes, we do have a billionaire alum 4 times over. I assume by your comment the Cajuns have a few.

Maybe it's that water they're always talking about that has warped the minds of these two jackwagons from Statesboro.

And the Cajuns have never beat the FBS teams we have played. UGA, UF, FSU, Miami, Bama, Auburn etc.

Lol. Cajuns for the last 25 years were going 2-9 and losing to bad FCS teams like Nothwestern st and Mcnese. Yes, you were FBS if that helps.
We would have destroyed the Cajuns most years.

Yeah, we were dominating the JV teams while ULL was losing to them (Northwestern st multiple times, Mcnese recently). At least lose to good JV teams, not the bad ones!

RE: Buckle up
Cajuns, I am glad that the ship has been righted and the Cajuns are now a solid team on the right track. All that was needed was a Ga Southern alum to straighten things out. Congrats Cajuns and GA Southern alum Scott Farmer (AD) for bringing a little Ga Southern winning attitude to the program!
Looking forward to 2014!

Zee they may very well be the first team to visit Cajuns Field for tailgating and get the LSU treatment from our fans.

RE: Buckle up
I am just happy to be here and finally out of the SOCON because the shoe didn't fit anymore.
Now I hope we kick everyone's butt but I doubt it happens. Heck I think we will have a chance to beat UGA this year. I go into every game with a chance of winning after 2007. That Mountaineer team proved me to be wrong so I give all of our teams a chance now. There will probably be a steep learning curve in the SBC but I still expect APP to compete and be in every game with a chance to win. That is what a fan is. We play to win. We never go into a game just hoping to play good.
I want APP to earn your respect on the field and I fully expect us to do that. Hope everyone in here walks away with a loss especially the gnats from stinky creek Statesboro.
