That's unfortunate for them...can't say I'm too unhappy about it though. I was (and still am to a smaller extent) worried about them coming into CAA play this year.

That means they've lost all 3 1st team AAs on offense they had from last yr + their All Big South QB They were already (according to the CAA Preview) returning the least amount of starters (11) in the CAA. Now make that 10, including only 4 on offense.

Threads like these are a jarring reminder that we now share a conference with Stony Brook.

Yeah. An AAUP university. The only one in the CAA. What a shame.

Carnegie Mellon is an AAU university as well, but I do not want to see them in our athletic conference either.

Isn't Mellon DII? So I don't think you have anything to worry about there. Then again, Mellon also hasn't put a team in the CWS, beaten Army, or recently made noise in the FCS playoffs...a history of non-achievement JMU sadly shares.
I'll take Stony Brook all day long and twice on Sundays, especially if they join the CAA as an all-sports member, and that's where JMU sports reside.

JMU has been to the CWS, beaten Navy and won the FCS playoffs. Although the most recent of which was 9 years ago unfortunately.

Yes, I'm quite aware of all those accomplishments, thank you.
But as you've acknowledged, they are ancient history
Stony Brook's are fresh out of the oven, and they're poised for more.
