Richard Simmons built a multi-million dollar business in a category that didn't exist previously, in an area where he was able to promote health advocacy. He's a credit to ULL, not a detriment.

Furthermore, he did so as an effeminate man in the 70's and 80's. I shudder to think about how much more difficult it was for him to accomplish what he did during that time period than say a "Susan Powter" or a "Bobby Blanks". Simmons also doesn't appear to have engaged in selling cray-cray supplements either. Good for him and good for ULL.

I wonder how the citizens of Oachita Parish would have treated someone like Richard Simmons.

Regarding the other picture in the OP. Obviously some very attractive guys who are dressed to show off. I'm not sure there's really anything going on there other than some vanity. Go to any gym and you'll see that. Or just turn on MMA or WWF. If the Rock can stand around in their underwear why can't they.

Richard Simmons reminds me of Liberace doing it about the same time period, with both being huge successes, way more than for what they did.

I thought Richard Simmons went to Liberty? 04-cheers

Tom, you do understand that this little work of art came out of that great Mecca of Culture in Ruston? LouisianaHawkfan is not creative enough to put something together like this; he is as lame as they come.

I did note that the author of that is from Ruston. Wasn't particularly surprised about that.
