It's that time of year again. We have expanded the picnic into an entire weekend of activities. Anyone with any connection to Mississippi is welcome to attend. (That includes a curiosity!)

Atlanta Alumni and Celebrity Golf Tournament
The 1st Annual Alumni and Celebrity Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Mississippi Society of Georgia, will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Wolf Creek Golf Course located at 3000 Union Road in Atlanta. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Mississippi Society of Georgia Scholarship as well as local alumna chapter scholarships for who students will be attending a Mississippi schools.
Schedule of events include:
8:30 - 10 a.m. Registration
8:30 - 9:45 a.m. Lazy Magnolia Brewing Putting Contest
10 a.m. Shotgun Start
4 - 4:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony

Mississippi Night at the Braves Game
The Mississippi Society of Georgia Night at the Atlanta Braves will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013. A pre-game social will begin at 5 p.m. in the Hank Aaron Room at Turner Field, and first pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. as the Atlanta Braves face the San Francisco Giants.
Group rate tickets are $36 per person and include popcorn and a hot dog at the pre-game social. A cash bar will also be available in the Hank Aaron Room. To purchase tickets, please visit the Mississippi Society of Georgia website.

5th Annual Atlanta's Mississippi Picnic in the Park
The 5th Annual Atlanta's Mississippi Picnic in the Park will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Chastain Park in Buckhead located at 145 W. Wieuca Road Northwest.
Admission to the picnic is free, and fried catfish plates from Mississippi's own Penn's Catfish will be available for purchase. Meal tickets are available for purchase at a discounted rate on the society website. A limited supply of meal tickets will be available at the picnic for $20 each.
