The best first round matchup would've been ... No. 5 Michigan vs. No. 12 South Florida. Andre Hall and the Bulls would've given the Wolverines all they could've handled. The USF defense would've been just good enough to keep it tight until late.

The best second round game likely would've been ... No. 1 Texas vs. No. 8 Iowa. When was the last time a Kirk Ferentz team got embarrassed late in the season? This would've been worth the price of admission to have seen the great Iowa linebacking corps match up with Vince Young.

The Cinderella could possibly have been ... South Florida. Any team that could've beaten Louisville badly could've been a stunner throughout the early rounds.

That is interesting. Of course it would never happen, as far as a tournament that big. I would love to see a 12 team or so BCS Tournament and a NIT style tournament for the "lesser" bowls with conference champions of the non-BCS conferences getting automatic bids provided they don't get a BCS bid.
