RE: New AAC Logos and Marks Unveiled---USA Today
The crooked star almost seems to reflect the geography of the league...pointing to Texas, Florida, Atlantic Ocean, and Cincy with the longest point into the Northeast.
At first glance I didn't like the star, but at second glance it seems to have intended meaning.
I like the conferences take on calling it The American and the "A" brand and "American" brand...I wish the fans would get on board and try to take some pride in what their University Presidents have moved forward with.

Not great, not terrible - just like everything else in this new league.
FIFY. The AAC logo would look much better on a missile used by the US and not her enemies,

The AAC did as well as cen be expected. It could have been a heck of lot worse, especially given the new conference's track record.
Seems obvious to me
The "crooked star with the extra long point" is to show that the AAC has C-USA roots:
C-USA logo with stretched star

Seems plausible.
A simpler "A" probably would have done the trick. I like simplicity of the BIG Ten, Big XII, PAC 12, SEC and ACC logos best. The American was trying a bit too hard to be different.
Maybe the "A" without the star would have been better. Seeing that the schools currently in the 2014 conference don't look to be going anywhere for a long, long time, the conference will have a chance to revamp the logo again. It's a good enough logo for a non-AQ conference.

Thought a simpler A would have been better as well at first, but keep in mind that you have other branded "A"'s to contend with like Arizona's, Alabama, AFC's, App State's, Army, the Angels, Adobe, American Airlines, the Oakland "A's", etc....there is certainly a lot of logo's to consider.

Website for them....
I guess being a start up business they're cutting corners and not including all schools in their marketing and advertising plan.....especially the one that will win most of the sports championships this year!

The star looks like ****. I would have been happy with just a plain old A with a triangle in the middle.

Looking at all those logos together, I can't see any unifying themes. What do Navy and USF have in common?

Especially since there isn't a school in there that wouldn't take an offer from the ACC, B1G, B12 or Pac.

Of course, but should the league put that in the motto?

I've noticed that for the most part, the only people who actually have a problem with the logo are ACC fans. I'm sorry, but at least the logo of the American Athletic Conference isn't all that boring. The ACC logo has got to be one of the most boring things tn the world to look at. I don't even care at all for the AAC and I still think they did well with their logo. I like it and I think it is going to work great!

My ACC fanhood has nothing to do with that logo being hideous. It has everything to do with them using a gradient fill. Someone on the AAC board mocked one up without the gradient fill and it looks 100 times better. It just looks like WordArt from MS Word otherwise.
