RE: New AAC Logos and Marks Unveiled---USA Today
The gradient fill is disgusting and unprofessional. Other than that, I think it came out decently.
Why is "stable" in our motto?

For the same reason the jack ass at the bar tries to tell the ladies how well-hung he is: Insecurity.

The SEC's logo sucks the worst of any I have seen, and they do ok.

I don't know how to put this politely, but they can afford to have a terrible logo. You guys can't.
All you guys had to do was avoid a Legends-and-Leaders scale fiasco. And you did it. So today's a good day for you guys.

When you have to promote "stable" and "united" in your name or motto, it's because the opposite is true. It's good old fashion Orwellian doublespeak.
Examples: Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the old German Democratic Republic, United and Stable American Athletic Conference.

^^^this^^^
Simplify the A and (no outline, no serif, no gradiant) and it would look good.
