Bryan Harsin was on radio today and let it slip that we were in the process of finalizing home and home football contract with Miami (The Florida Kind)

Nothing official yet, but it appears this is very close to getting signed.

Obviously, this would be a gigantic home and home deal for our perspective. Schools like Miami dont just travel to Sun Belt Schools very often.

Mizzou home/home
Miami home/home
A Pac-12 home/home (my money is on Utah though based on the hints given by the AD, it could Washington State, or Arizona).
Plus rumors of a home/home with Hawaii
Schedules are shaping up nicely.

I look forward to the day that Ga. Southern schedules its first FBS non-conference game at home. I know it won't happen in 2014 as our 4 non-conference are at N.C. State, at Georgia Tech, at Navy and home vs. FCS Duquesne.

Out of all of the Florida schools Miami is willing to travel. It may not be a true home and home, (could be a 2 for 1) but they will come to your place. Florida and FSU froget about it. Although FSU DID travel to USF I believe once.

Good get for stAte!

Its a home and home. Apparently our AD has some connections with the school from his days at FAU.

I was surprised that we seemed to be interested in picking up Hawaii for a home and home, but you do get a 13th game that one year as part of the deal, and we could use that to bring in an extra home contest, or put one in Little Rock.

FYI. Miami and USF have a 6 game home/home series, with the final game this year at USF, and FSU and USF are in middle of a 4 game home/home series, with each team winning once so far.

Miami doesnt draw anywhere near as well as Florida or Florida State does so them giving up a home game doesnt have near of the economic impact as it would the other two schools.

Oh PUH-LEASE. Miami is very willing to travel. In fact... we've got games coming up AT Florida Atlantic and Toledo. So before you group UM with all the "we're better than you" never-travellers in the BCS, we ARE NOT one of them...

Kudos to Miami for not being afraid to treat the game as it should be treated.

People like Nick Saban who think all "lower" FBS schools should go to Division II are the ones ruining the game. I'm glad Blake James (our AD) and Coach Al Golden (Temple's ol' HC) are running the Miami program rather than idjuts like the ones in SEC.

The SEC is just annoying at this point. Its like they think they can set all the rules to college football now that they have won the title a few times. Then of course Jim Delaney opens his big yap in the Big 10.

Those two leagues are going to ruin college football.

Miami-Southern Miss home and home fell through at the last minute. I am told that we couldn't agree on dates. Southern Miss needs a lot of flexibility because we are trying to work SEC schools back into a regular rotation now that they need the OOC difficulty and the Dome is willing to bid on Southern Miss home games. We are working on restarting the long-dormant Southern Miss-FSU series. We stopped playing that one after we beat them in Jacksonville in 1989. At least Bowden was honest about it, unlike every Ole Miss coach and administrator since 1984. The first game would be in the dome.

I can tell you from being at Southern Miss home games against Nebreaska, Cal, and Virginia that the atmosphere is just plain more electric for the big names. Good luck against Miami.

That could've been a good series. I love how we aren't afraid to step "outside the box" for opponents. Too bad it didn't work out.

What are you talking about? In the last 15-20 years FSU has played at USC, ND, BYU, Colorado, Syracuse, USF and has USF and Boise State on the schedule in the near future and obviously that's not counting UF every other year and Miami before they joined the ACC. They've also played neutral site games against Texas A&M, Kansas and I believe Notre Dame in that time span and have one scheduled against Oklahoma State. FSU travels, they just don't play on the road at mid- or low-majors.

UF hasn't played a road OOC game other than Florida State since like 1991. Miami has crappy home attendance but I have no idea why they'd agree to play at Toledo, Memphis, Arkansas State or the like, even if they haven't always had the money to pay these schools $1M to play in the Dolphins' stadium. I don't see any benefit to them. It doesn't help their SOS. It doesn't increase their revenue. And it's not like they recruit those areas all that heavily. But hey, it's their prerogative.

I think I've only seen Southern Miss fans say this. I don't recall any FSU sites/posters commenting about this much. (Could be wrong.) I wouldn't mind the series but I'm not sure negotiations are as serious as USM fans believe.
