How about something that actually represents your two schools and not the state of Alabama itself?

In the same way Birmingham-Memphis have BBQ (The battle for the bones) and the Iron Bowl was played in Birmingham and named it for the Iron and Steel industry.

I'm having a hard time thinking of anything g that fits that bill, other than perhaps Pine trees and the timber industry.

No. Peanut Bowl belongs to the GSU v. GSU matchup.

Or GSU squared.

RE: Naming the Troy vs. South Game
We should name it like an event instead of a "classic" or "bowl" similar to how Georgia and Florida have The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (or whatever they call it now).

Haha... It would be funny if we named it Clash of the Titans. The trophy can be named "The Kraken". When one team wins the trophy from the other team they can say "Release the Kraken!"

The Southern Brawl

After leaving the South Baseball game that's what it seemed like on the field. And in some cases in the stands.

"The Showdown in Dixie"?

I want want this game to have a name to it. IMO, it will end up being a long running rivalry, so I feel it should be named...like "the Battle for the Palladium." Its a shame Middle FINALLY wins the thing, just to run home with the trophy and refuse to let it out again, for fear we will take it back. 05-mafia

1. The coaches have said no punches were thrown on the field.
2. What the heck are you talking about "some cases the stands"? I don't recall any issues in the stands.

Why would you want to name the game after a ten dollar bill that originated in New Orleans?

Of course there was no fights in the stands.... But there was some words exchanged.... And I never said there were punches thrown.

You were involved in some word exchanges by a Troy fan in the stands. Were you not?

I wouldn't consider that exchange bad. All I did was look backwards and that Troy woman was being a rude jerk to me for doing so, but it was in the moment. Plus she was probably drunk. I don't think it was anything that negative to post in this way and leave it open for insinuation that our fanbases are both moronic and classless. Of course there will be jibber jabber. That's what rivals do. But no fighting! I don't want people think we were fighting, verbally or otherwise.
