Some of you may already know but for those who do not, Taylor Adkins of the Duke Club is heading to UTSA to run their equivalent of the DC. Quite a move. Guy is JMU through and through so IMO a tough blow to fundraising in this critical time. DC has had some turnover, expected in the industry, but still a shame nonetheless. Hope many of you reach out to him to wish him luck in his new endeavor.

Spoke with him earlier today and wished him well. Great opportunity for him. I predict he will be back at JMU in the future. Also, I saw where Brandon Stevens left the College of Charleston recently. Went to work for one of their big backers. Taylor has been one of the best we have ever had to work with. A great guy.

UTSA is an FBS school and in CUSA. Tough to swallow that they are now our superior.

Along somewhat similar lines (and not to take anything away from Taylor) I saw that Mike Waddell is leaving Towson for Arkansas. He won't be AD but will be have a pretty prominent role in their department.

Good luck to Mr. Adkins, always enjoyed having him around.

Taylor's an asset to JMU. Hopefully, he finds his way back to JMU sooner rather than later.

Taylor, thanks for the good work and dedication to JMU. congrats and best of luck! Come back and post once you're settled!

Agreed, I was waiting for someone else to break the news before responding. Taylor, hope you get back to JMU in the future and have enjoyed chatting with you at periodic events.

If we are still CAA Lovers in a year, expect to hear A LOT of these sad stories. Best of luck to him. A move up is always understandable. He must have seen staying at JMU would not result in a move up?!

Everyone has their own reasons for making moves in life, but stuff like this and our strength coach leaving makes me feel like we're not exactly on the up and up.

Don't want to derail this thread, but that's what I thought when I got Taylor's voice mail. Of course, if he is going to be the Director, then I fully understand.

I believe he said Senior Associate Director or Associate Director of the Roadrunner Club when we spoke. Seemed like a great move for him & I have all the confidence in the world that he will return to JMU in the future if it fits with his career path. He just loves the Dukes too damn much.

It is hard to advance in the Duke Club without an accounting background.

Good Luck to Taylor. The Duke club staff has always been a revolving door. Low pay and long hours. It truly is a labor of love and much appreciation goes out to Taylor and all of those who have served before him.
Let's bury the hatchet and bring back Lefty Driesell as the next Duke Club director. Overnight growth!

Taylor's been a great friend and does indeed bleed purple with the best of them. Had nothing to do with JMU not having moved up and everything to do with a fantastic opportunity for him...and you can take that to the bank!
