Room for a new bowl for the SBC! I was worried that we would end up playing in Detroit the last few seasons.

I'd love for another bowl game to be played in Atlanta. I wonder if the rest of the Sun Belt would think that playing in the Ga Dome would be an unfair advantage for GaSt? Would we look at other venues in Atlanta? Turner Field maybe?

Heck no its not an advantage. If anything it makes them more valuable to the conference. Plus they'd have to find a way to win six games to get there. 05-stirthepot

No way they would ever use Turner Field. That field is hands off from what I have heard. It was a BIG deal for them to allow UGA to play GT in baseball there. No way they let the SBC tear up that field for football.

That is what I was thinking. Unless their fans plan to throw things at us when we arrive to play the game then I see no problem!COGS

Sounds good to me. Little Ceaser might want a Bowl in Atlanta, and I'd like to see one in Atlanta for us.

OR:
How about the Krispy Kreme Bowl? Can't get much more Southern Bowl than that can we?
Dixie Crystal Bowl? Versus the #7 or 8 SEC Team?

I don't know if I would say it's a totally unrealistic idea. AT&T Park (home to the SF Giants), Tropicana Field (TB Rays) and Yankee Stadium are all used to host bowl games. Again, I'll admit the Dome is without question the best option, assuming no one has issues with a Sun Belt team calling it home.

I believe the LCPB is being replaced by a Big14-ACC bowl in Detroit.

We dont eactly have a shortage of Fortune 1000 companies here who could sponsor. http://www.atlwork.com/features/atlanta-...e_1000.php

And its not about GSU. SBC needs another bowl and there is a city in the footprint that can provide a stadium, sponsor and tourism infrastructure to host one. I live here so I would rather go elsewhere for a bowl.

Agreed. It could be pitched to Little Ceasers, or if not PaPa Johns since they no longer do the bowl thing since 2010 it seems. Maybe that bowl got too expensive. They might want to get in on the ground floor of a new one?

not really...

The Detroit Lion's will be replacing it with a B1G vs ACC match up if everything works out as they want.

PaPa Johns dropped the bowl game to become the official pizza for the NFL. I dont see them coming back to college football anytime soon.
