Kudos Wedge, I think you managed to get all AAU schools in the first 8 rounds (except Nebraska). That's interesting. I went for teams with 10 win potential who drew fairly large crowds. The next round of 8 will be decidedly different I think. Let the Trades begin. I'll post the updated list and break it down by individual.

Yeah, you have a good approach... it's interesting to look at the different approaches that everyone took, though as you note it's going to be hard for anyone to do exactly what they want with the last few picks. If we're each taking 16 schools, it's going to get pretty thin at the end, like one of those NFL fantasy football drafts with about 16 teams where one team ends up starting someone like Mark Sanchez or Brandon Weeden at QB because there aren't that many quality QBs to go around.

Just trading today is fine with me, but I am fine with whatever is decided.

I'll plan on making the first pick of the 9th round on Tuesday morning, unless everyone thinks the trading period should be longer.

Wedge the trading period will end next Sunday at midnight Eastern Time. You may make your next pick at 9:01 PM Pacific Time.

OK, so a week of trading, then.

I think the next 5 picks determine the outcome. After that it will be a wash for the most part, but an interesting wash to watch us try to find value in some of those final picks.

BBB, I think you will find that trading will beget more trading. You might have to acquire from one person what another wants who is actually holding the team you are seeking. Remember geographical, cultural, and academic fit will count as well. I've come up with a point system for academic fit, the season will determine who has the % of wins for their conference teams, I also plan a small bonus for the national champion. I think before we tally at the end we should all vote on who we believe to have the best cultural and geographical fit and award 5 points to the winner down to 1 point for last.

These are after all the qualities that go into actually growing a conference. There is a profitability study done annually to rank that aspect too. We can have fun sorting out all of that as well. But a week gives time for people's other plans and plenty of time to work those trades.

Being last has forced me to go experimental mode. Bypassing some academic standing for something else instead.

Can we just do a work week of trading meaning trade up until 12:00 am Saturday morning?

He1nous I included the weekend to account for people's various allotted spare time blocks. Some have more during the week and some on the weekend so I figured it would balance out more fairly to go through Sunday.

I think it helps us both. I just couldn't imagine Bama and Auburn in difference conferences, anyway. Paul Finebaum needs it to stay in business :)

Does he really? There would be a lot less acrimony in the rivalry without that windbag. All he does is flame up the trailer park crowd for both schools and then use them for public ridicule. You know he is a UT grad right?

After a quick comparison, I have to say I am very glad to be a part of this Draft instead of any others that might be going on. That's all I am going to say on that.

Thanks for having me despite putting me in the 5th slot and taking me out back whippin that ass so far. 04-rock

I think GTS is tearing his hair out right now with the new server. If he would just remove the Texas Longhorn sticker I am sure it would work just fine. lol03-lmfao

GTS main problems were with inferior Cat6 cabling and DNS routing. All issues seem to have been resolved now...
