I keep telling Vol fans they're going to be pleasantly surprised by Butch Jones. He's personable, a good recruiter, and a pretty good strategic coach. All he needs is the time to build up the depth he needs. Kiffen, and then Dooley, didn't leave him much to work with...

Andrew Wiggins is going to announce in the next 30 minutes, and I may be freaking out just a bit. Yall don't have to root for him to pick UK, but at least root against him going to UNC! Most experts are thinking FSU because his parents went there and his best friend from high school signed there. We'll see.

Wiggins to Kansas... a bit surprised. I thought it would be FSU. At least it wasn't UNC.

Definitely surprised by the Kansas pick by Wiggins, everything I had heard was that he personally preferred UK but his parents had a strong preference for FSU. Goes to show what we really know. Or perhaps this was a compromise of sorts, haha

Like I said last night... some of these kids are gonna sign at the school where they have the best chance to play football as a starter. They probably also have what he want's academically too.

RE: SEC Recruiting
Got four or five 4-stars visiting this weekend along with a current commit. One is on commitment watch, the others we may get into the top group for.

Hopefully the commits start rolling in soon, we are way behind everyone at the moment.

I don't know why you're surprised. The rumors of Wiggins going to Kansas have been floating about for over a month...

While Kansas has been in the mix, I had heard he preferred Kentucky if he didn't go with his family school, FSU. Certainly it's surprising that he chose any school over one that has his family members in their Hall of Fame.

It happens all the time. Some kids would rather go somewhere they can their own mark, rather than live in the shadow of their elders. Peyton Manning chose Tennessee for that very reason...

CBJ has brought back Vol pride. Love that he is bringing all the VFL back to nail down to the current roster what it means to wear the Power T on the side of their helmet. Getting Jalen Hurd to commit early should help immensely on the recruiting trail.

RE: SEC Recruiting
Nice data courtesy an LSU website:
As of May 10th:

http://espn.go.com/blog/colleges/lsu/pos...2014-class

"Florida leads the way in the SEC at No. 2. LSU is No. 4, Texas A&M No. 5, Tennessee No. 7 and Alabama No. 9. Other SEC teams in the top 15 are Ole Miss at No. 11 and Georgia at No. 12. Vanderbilt is No. 18 and Auburn No. 22.

First-year Tennessee coach Butch Jones has made a big splash on the recruiting trail. The Vols already have 12 commitments."

We should be good with him. Grew up a South Carolina fan and has been a longtime lean. Barring anything monumental we should keep him.

2015 should be a great class for us. 2014 is very tight on numbers, but in 2015 we are looking at 25-29 guys again with some great talent in state.
