That's him. 4 star out of high school and ranked as the 21st best shooting guard in his class.

We still have the higher standards in place so it would stand to reason.

see post #14 on this thread :-P

I'd feel more comfortable about Haase if that was the case. Having 2 seniors leave for unknown reasons would be fishy.

Yeah. Fishy as in there has been a coaching change recently. Happens every where. Players give the new coach one year and decide to bail when it they realize it aint like it used to be.

And if you are following the national trend, there have been an exponentionally large increase in the number of transfers this year.

Between early departures for the NBA and seniors transferring, the days of the four year student may be a thing of the past.

I put more stock in what he did at VA tech than how many stars he had when he was recruited.

It looks like he had a promising freshman year and then a poor sophomore year. Could have been the coaching change. Or maybe something else. I like the fact that we have two of the coaches who coached him his freshman year.

Wow! It will be very interesting to see who is leaving or who didn't qualify.

18th. There's a new sheriff in town, boys.

Man, I'm getting really excited by the prospects for this coming season in both football and basketball. I want us to blow up the conference so badly I can just taste it.

By their point system, shouldn't we be tied for 13th?

Just glancing, it looks like the tie breaker is the average score per player
Our ranking is so high bc of having a class of 7. You almost have to get down to #40 to find a school with a lower average than ours

Avg. score/player at a given point total, otherwise Duke would be #1 at 8.7/player.

I think the page-master just didn't move teams around properly, because he should have us at 15.

We are quibbling over a subjective ranking that means nothing?

Last year Kentucky had a #1 recruiting class that took them to a first round NIT loss. I don't know where Louisville was ranked, but I would take it over #1

Oh I agree but it's nice to talk about instead of worrying what last minute guy we will get that no one else wants. Let em enjoy it. UAB fans could use something to be happy about.

Let's put it this way... when was the last time our recruiting class ranked at 40, let alone in the teens? Sure it's a subjective ranking, but who cares at this point?

Chad, if you weren't ours, we'd mock them plenty.

Since you're a Blazer, we'll be pulling for y'all to make the dance!

2008. #5

Quote:Having UAB on this list is not a misprint; coach Mike Davis has delivered some monumental verbal pledges to Birmingham. One top-5 prospect, 6-9 PF DeMarcus Cousins (Mobile, Ala.), has the talent to not only build a program, but his presence could help shift the balance of power in Conference USA. ESPN 100 combo-guard Tamir "Pops" Jackson (Newark, N.J.) should have plenty of room to operate on the perimeter due to Cousins' interior presence. Juco 6-10 PF Maurice Bolden will add depth along the front line for the Blazers.
