Names for the Triple A team
A poll would limit it. So I thought I'd ask what name you like. I think the El Paso Padres has a nice ring to it (due to the missions, etc. out here).

But.... I also like the El Paso Stars. Especially, since the Star on the mountain have has become a city identifying landmark/staple.

Since we're with the padres now, I guess Diablos is out of the question.

I like Padres. Demolition, dynamite, explosion or crazies would be cool too

The dongs... I don't know if that would go over well

How about the Dodgers?

As in the Bullet dodgers because that is what fans will be doing in that part of town.

Just kidding

I have already submitted "El Paso Thunder". I hope I win.

What does rain have to do with Thunder?

It thunders here a lot even if it doesn't rain.

Really? Have you lived here long?

Funny you would mention farts.... because my wife and I have a running joke because of the fact that it thunders so much in el Paso but doesn't rain. We call it "puro pedo" which means nothing but fart but no poo. As in lots of thunder but no rain.

I have cousins in California that visit every summer and they go crazy when it thunders because it is such a rare occassion in Cali.

Bobcats or Cougars would be appropriate. You should submit it before someone else does.

RE: Names for the Triple A team
Some of the most popular names being thrown out there are pretty goofy.

Looks like Sun Devils, Sun Kings, and a couple of others are the most popular.

I think that the El Paso Padres was a solid choice right in front of us all along (due to the missions, the letter P in Padres and El Paso, the old west term "Padre" used in countless western movies, and so on)

It's not about the money. It's about the lying. It's about city council promising that it wouldn't cost more than 50 million and then turning around and asking for a loan of 57 million.

Why should anyone be surprised.

You can't say I didn't warn you.

ugh, shut up, if it was up to people like you, we'd still be hunters and gatherers. Time to get with the times crazies, or move your asses to less cruces.

That's very easy to say when it's someone elses money you are spending. When it comes out of your pocket, it's a different story.
