They used students ratings on RateMyProfessor.com. I wouldn't call that an accurate rating system of how good a professor truly is.

I agree that you have to take it with a grain of salt at the least. When one of the categories on the website is 'hotness' than it kinda takes some legitimacy out of it.

One of the comments was pretty good. S/he equated using RMP as a rating tool to using MySpace to understand current trends in social media.

This prompted me to look up my own scores, they are all over the place. In a given semester I have from 150-250 students. I think I averaged about 3 comments per semester, hardly a representative sample size. This is just a lazy way for people to put together a list. You can go to our website and find university-developed professor ratings. Still not perfect, but a representative sample at least. However this would take a lot more work on their behalf.

And btw, Toledo's up there too.
