Serious question for current members and those just added. Knowing your President and your faculty and student body can you see your President voting yes for Liberty?

No Idaho wouldn't now they have a conf. Back in the wac with no football teams is a different story.

RE: Who would YOU pick as the 12th football member
I have been in favor of JMU for a number of reasons. It would be the closest SBC member to App State and as a Virginian it would be the closest SBC school to my home. However, I'm beginning to think that JMU is playing the game we did a couple of years ago.

It will be interesting to see what comes of the SBC meetings in two weeks. I would have no objections to seeing Mo State added as the 12th member if JMU isn't interested.

As for Liberty, except for my four years at App, I have lived in VA for 58 years and would have a hard time accepting them as a member because of what I see the school representing. That said, they have gobs of money and a great amount of potential. At some point, for some conference, that will likely be persuasive.

Always wanted to be in a conference with JMU. Think a lot of their fans felt the same way, but their administration has a problem making a decision evidently.

Conference games with Appy would be epic...have really enjoyed the last several times we have played. Not sure we end up in SB but hope we play Appy OOC on a frequent basis

Regardless of conference affiliations, it would be a good rivalry.

I'd prefer JMU mainly because we have a rivalry with them already and it would be nice to have a short trip for the fans. Mo State has a lot of potential and would be great for the Western schools. I wish we had two openings and could add them both.

Do we really have a rivalry with them? We haven't played them since 2008, We've only played them 14 times (11-3) and 3 of them came in the years '06, '07, and '08. Excluding out last 3 games, the last time we played them was in '92. We played them regularly prior to '92. To me, that's not a rivalry. Could it be if we played on a regular basis? Yes. Could it be a great rivalry? Maybe, but probably not if we aren't in the same conference.

My vote would go to JMU, because this could be a great rivalry for App. I do believe the fans of both schools would pack the house each and every time we played.

Looking at the map, there is a whole in the middle called Mississippi. Since you have FAMU on the map, why not add Jackson State?
