Last month I was a part of the group of people who got the first openly gay NCAA football captain now Pennsylvania state representative, Brian Sims to speak at ODU. The event had over 500 in attendance and hopefully introduced dialogue in the locker rooms as there are inevitably LGBT athletes at ODU who feel they can't be themselves without judgement from their peers.

Good news but hopefully he can sign somewhere next season to become the first active athlete to do so. Otherwise I don't see how this is different than John Amaechi.

I doubt we'll be alive. Hell they're still doing "Gay night" at the Richmond Ballet for goodness sake! Of all events, I expected ballet to be the last to feel they had to have a special night for gay people to come out and enjoy the show. Lol.
