This crap is funny!
Does UTA have a fall and spring graduation, or just spring graduation?

Texas is big. When you have 33k students likt UTA or Texas State, 36k like UNT, 30k like UTSA, or 38k like Houston you're gonna have big graduations. Not to mention Texas or A&M...

Yes, they do spring and fall. They used to do summer too, before the last economic recession caused it to be a victim of budget cuts.

Normally spring commencement is larger than fall commencement. How many did you graduate in the fall?

Fixed that for you.
TXST has Fall, Spring and Summer Graduations. I'm not finding numbers though.

you must be looking at Texas A&M undergrad only and you have UT, UTA, UH, Tech, UTSA, UTEP, Baylor, SMU and north Texas state wrong as well
it should be:
UT - 52,186
A&M - 50,227
Houston - 40,747
UNT - 35,778
TXST - 34,225
UTA - 33,239
Tech - 32,398
UTSA - 30,474
UTEP - 22,728
Baylor - 15,364
SMU - 12,466
TCU - 9,725
Rice - 6,082
those are from the THECB or from the 12th class day report of the university....Rice is the only one that is 2011, but they have probably changed little.....it was funny how the north Texas state fan had north Texas state at 36K and then underestimates everyone else especially UH by a couple of thousand.....that is the joke of thinking that large = quality which Rice clearly dismisses and proves false, but the north Texas state faithful will really be crying when UTA and TxState pass them by in enrollment here in the next couple of years and right now in the Spring 2013 semester UTA is already larger than north Texas state with UTA @ 33,806 and north Texas state @ 33,715......it will really sting going from trying to falsely claim they were 3rd in enrollment in Texas at some point and ahead of UH (which they were never even close they were always a few thousand less) to going to 6th in enrollment from 4th

Big fan student fan-bases as well. I would argue it's a bit easier to fill the stadiums. Also, TX is football-damn-crazy...

I understand. Nothing got me madder than seeing people wear UGA gear to GaSouthern games and events.

Not exactly. There is a lot of competition for the entertainment sports $$$$$. For example, Houston has not only Rice and UH sports, there are professional sports teams competing for the sports entertainment $$$. The Dallas-FW Metroplex has 3 FBS college teams (TCU, SMU & UNT) along with the Cowboys & games played at the Cotton Bowl (Texas-OU, etc). For basketball, there are 4 D1 teams (UTA, UNT, SMU and TCU) plus the ever popular Dallas Mavericks. The only major metro area without a pro football team is San Antonio.

I would also contend that the bigger the enrollment, the greater the chance a U is a commuter school, further eroding any potential fan base from the student body.

Don't forget the Texas Rangers; playoff games two out of the last three seasons took them late into October - providing another competitor for Friday Night High School and Saturday College contests. People can afford to go to/be at only so much.

Not necessarily; UT has grown so much that it's become almost commuter - yet people all across the State buy and wear burnt orange gear and root for the 'Horns as T-sip wanna be's (all based on an historic past and one National Championship in the past decade).
If you develop a good College FB program in Texas and consistently win over numerous years, you'll discover a whole new following and attract hordes of applicants; just consider TCU.

Got my numbers from Fall (or latest updated) enrollment. TXSTs may even be larger with mid-term adds and transfers (minus Dec graduates) but the page I used wasn't changed from the fall # for us.
Yep, I grabbed the wrong # for A&M
