NCAA softball power rankings by ESPN

"10. South Alabama (40-7, 16-3 Sun Belt)

It seems like the same teams keep rotating through this spot, but it's not like we haven't seen Sun Belt representation among college softball's elite. It's just that it's usually Louisiana-Lafayette. Current conference leader South Alabama becomes the newest addition to the power rankings on the strength of being one of four teams that began last week slugging at least .500 with an ERA of 1.60 or better. The other three: Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas. Brittany Fowler (1.218 OPS) and freshman Haley Fagan (Sun Belt player of the week) pace the offense, while Hannah Campbell (18-7, 0.94 ERA) and Farish Beard (19-0, 1.97 ERA) split the pitching duties."

RE: NCAA softball power rankings by ESPN
I am so disappointed in how our softball team has played. We started with one of the better non-conference records in the WAC. Won our first conference series. Then the sweeps started. In the first five conference series, we have won one and been swept twice. The funny thing is our team ERA is still the best in the conference. Our hitting and defense on the other hand...

As a very young team, we will have to bring it next year to compete with the like of USA and the Cajuns.
