Missouri State fan (lets talk terms)
I've seen discussion here of MSU on your board as an expansion candidate. Most of our fans would love a CUSA/AAC invite but are completely turned off by your basketball and we are a basketball school first so that needs to be addressed.

I was thinking these things would make the invite more tempting to accept.
1)Somehow pull in Wichita St (and possibly ORU, Belmont, and/or JMU) to improve the hoops. WSU is becoming an outlier in the MVC and lost their biggest rival in Creighton and will lose their remaining biggest rival if we leave too.
2)Bring in New Mex St as a basketball school, they have good basketball program.
3) kick Idaho out or promise us in writing that we never have to fly out there
4) keep ark. St from leaving
5) we can't leave arch madness with 17-20k at the championship each year to go play in a tiny town in arkansas. That needs to be addressed
6) TV for basketball, what kind of TV coverage do you guys get? The MVC gets 30-40 games on each fox sports-midwest and the ESPN networks for basketball.

I like MSU, but I don't like your approach in this post. Missouri State is not God's gift to athletics. The Sun Belt will be fine with or without you. MSU could benefit the league and the league can benefit MSU. We know we need to address our basketball. But making stipulations that you never have to travel to Idaho is ludicrous.

With that said, moving up to FBS might get really hard to do after we fill this last spot. Beggars can't be choosers.

I actually like his approach. The Sunbelt isn't God's gift to them either.

I don't want them and everyone who posts here know exactly why I don't.

Actually it may be. As far as we know there is ONE more FCS to FBS move-up slot. One more.

Here's the offer: the Mizzou Tigerbeasts aren't that good. If Mo State joins the FBS, it is possible for them to get on the same level as the other state school and perhaps pass them.

If you need posters to beg you to come, then maybe the SB isn't right for you.
You say the SB basketball is not that good right now, and you are correct, but
would think that a smart individual would realize what a great opportunity that
would give an incoming school to be king of the hill and get almost automatic
invites to the big dance with the SB championship.
Do not know about other members, but sounds like App State has stuck with out
young bb coach and he has quite a class coming in, so not so sure you would
win anyway.

At this point you have the following hoping (more or less) for a CUSA slot that may not exist. Arkansas State, Louisiana, Texas State, South Alabama, James Madison, Delaware, UMASS, NMSU, Georgia State.

Where would Missouri State's CUSA hopes be ranked on that list?

One of the worst football programs in FCS. Mo St is better off staying in the MVC and collecting Wichita St final 4 welfare checks for the next few years.

No thanks.

Hopefully it doesn't come across as being pompous, because that's the last thing Missouri State fans are.

We have plenty of school pimping threads... SBC fans, I believe all he is asking is for a "Pimp my Conference"

I think it is more disdain.

I've been one of the biggest proponents of MO ST but your post makes me want to kick you out and you aren't even in.

Going FBS would be a springboard to put us on the same level as Mizzou which would be huge for our statewide reputation. If we could make the blow less of a hit in basketball I would all be for it(ie adding a few other hoops schools as well)

Alllow me to rebutt:

If your university has aspirations of moving to FBS, this is your best shot. Get ready to move and take the lumps that come with it, or be content to stay FCS.

It's not a slam on you, but if you think the league will give concessions of you never having to travel to Idaho, or that special scheduling considerations will be made for you, I would say you're vastly overvaluing your school.
