OT: GSU Marching Band to represent GA in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
So it was announced at our Blue-White game today that our fabulous marching band will represent GA in the 2014 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Our marching band has made the last two seasons bearable for Panther fans. Hopefully our football team is noticing that good things come when you put a winning product on the field. Our MB definitely does just that at every game.

My HS band was in that a few years ago.

Niceville High went last year. I've got a few (teacher) friends down there.

Back during my marching days, I remember HS bands competing to get a shot at this parade.

Huge honor. A band only 4 years old appearing in the Presidential Inaugural Parade and Macy's Parade. Nice.

At Jacksonville State, we know a little about marching bands. Georgia State has done a great job with that band in a very short time. They are still small in numbers but they do an outstanding job and are fun to watch.

I know a lot of Georgia kids (particularly in Cobb) choose to go to Jax State just for the band program. Hopefully we can start keeping some of that talent in state :)

JSU knows how to recruit high school band kids. They perform in Atlanta ALL the time. Bands of America, Falcon games, etc. I wish the Sound of the South would perform in cities other than Montgomery and Dothan...
