Eligible immediately, will have one year to play. He'll be our starter next year, long enough to allow Harsin (or whoever our new coach is after we go 10-3 again) time to find a long term solution.

That's quite a bold prediction, though it's wrong.

Actually it was heavy sarcasm intended for the almost certain poster who would crack a joke about Harsin lasting more than a year.
Though, we do play at WKU this year, which dictates that we have a shot at 10-3.

Don't remind me. We need to start playing all of our games at neutral sites.

Most skill positions. We return our leading receiver, leading rusher, and several defensive threats. We lost Aplin, obviously, and most of our defensive backfield.
Talk had been for a while that we were going to bring in someone for a year. Harsin really wants a year to find a QB he can develop. Phillip Butterfield is a good QB, but starting him would be very similar to Kent State and their QB this year, we would be almost entirely reliant on our running game, with the hope that Butterfield could manage the passing game. We're not set up for that style of play.

This is too hilarious! Kennedy was out of a job at Utah State because he can't run and isn't very mobile. So Harsin will have to change the offense and he will be no threat to run the zone read like Aplin. He will be much easier to defend than Aplin and very similar Robinson at Troy. Thanks State, I’m looking forward to the game in Jonesboro now!

Title is ULL's to win this year. I am very glad that they come to Jonesboro.
nah ULL won't be winning it either....
Slow your roll, it isn't even T-Day yet.
Well I was going to say that USA was going to win it all this year. You Troy fans just think everything is about you.
You gotta admit, it was easy to assume that's where you were going, based on the history of troy posters on this board. I was about to take an over/under on how long until someone throws out the first "we own the belt" comment
I'm not sleeping on USA, but I don't think they win it all. They and Texas State will be the biggest surprises, in my opinion. Very underrated, I think.

We'll have our own 6-5 QB this year. Wheels are not the question mark though.

I wouldn't sleep on Robinson. Everyone except UL and North Texas (don't play them) struggled with Robinson, including Arkansas State. UL caught Troy when the offense hadn't begun to click, we still had 2011 hangover, and Deon Anthony hadn't been found out as our secret weapon. Deon tore up UL on that first drive and when we took him out so Corey could play we stalled. With Deon as a known threat, he makes Corey and the offense harder to defend. The Troy offense will be tough to defend this year, probably better than last year. It will all depend Wayne Bolt's new defense as to whether we make it to a bowl.

Corey Robinson threw for a ton of yards against the Cajuns, the secret? Keep him in the pocket, pressure him up the middle and force him to dump the ball off all night. He can have the yards, I will take the win. He is no Browning or Broadway when it comes to running the football.
Deon Anthony is no secret in this area since he played 17 miles south of Lafayette. He does give Troy a different look and packages to run. Troy's offense was pretty good last season as well.
