Due to hurrican Ivan, ESPN's college gameday will be in East Lansing to see Notre Dame play M*ch*g*n State. A pair of 1-1 teams that have losses to BYU and Rutgers, wow this is a great choice by the ESPN crew.

All the good games are in the southeast this week, but why not the Oklahoma-Oregon game, or even ASU-Iowa.

1. Both of those games should be blowouts (okla vs ore, Asu vs Iowa)
2. The history between nd and MSU
3. 2 of the last 3 games have been decided late in the 4th quarter
4. 2 bad teams may = 1 good/exciting game
4. Maybe Kirk Herbstreit wants more beer...if he makes the same comments from the past 04-drinky

This is from the Detroit Free Press:

ESPN's "College GameDay" -- the network's popular college football show -- is coming to East Lansing for Saturday's game. That means analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Chris Fowler had better practice ducking.

ESPN's college football crew members vowed after the Michigan-Michigan State game in 1997 that they wouldn't return to East Lansing because beer bottles and other objects were thrown at them while they were on the air. They returned in 1999 for the annual rivalry game, but they broadcast from inside Spartan Stadium.

This time, the crew trusts fans will behave, and the three will broadcast from outside the stadium.

The exact location hasn't been disclosed.

The last times there haven't been good games, GameDay went to USF @ Army and Harvard @ Penn.

Personally, I think they should've gone to Maryland @ WVU...... they're both undefeated, they're both ranked, and it should be a good game now that McBrien is gone from the Terps and it's in Morgantown.

Iowa / Arizona State won't be a blowout...... the Hawkeyes are missing a few players, and this is a BIG home game for the Sun Devils.

Oregon / Oklahoma would've been a bad choice, considering the Ducks lost to the Hoosiers in Autzen on Saturday...... the INDIANA HOOSIERS for crying out loud.

Maryland-West Virginia would have been a great choice, when i first posted this it looked like Ivan may head up through the Carolinas and Virginia.

I don't have a big problem with gameday being at East Lansing, there are just better games on Saturday.
