It looks much smaller in person than it does in pictures and the noise wasn't what I was expecting after hearing GaSo fans talk it up on message boards like they are now. I'm not sure if the fans just weren't very loud or the architecture and shallow gradient zapped all their noise but it was about half as loud as what I'm used to from our games.

I remember thinking "If this is 22,000, Kidd Brewer averages 38,000."

Not trying to be derogatory. Just honestly assessing my experience last fall. The GaSo fans I met were great and the tailgate was fun.

We're about to slap large vertical surfaces on the two sides of the stadium that didn't have anything reflect sound back. That should help with any gradient problems we have. I will admit we've lacked structure around the crowd to help contain sound, so we should notice a remarkable difference moving forward.

Also, our home side needs to learn to be loud on every down, and our PA announcer needs to stop getting excited when our OFFENSE is on a 3rd down because it seems to confuse the crowd.....they start cheering then. I wonder about our fans sometimes.

On that note I'll admit ours still leaves a bit to be desired, but the gameday atmosphere changes that perspective a lot. Both ours and Kidd Brewer have some work to do. Theirs is a bit nicer (and the scenery isn't bad either), but the way its built it reminds me of a glorified version of my high school's stadium, same layout/format, just a little bigger.

That's not a shot at KB either, I'm just saying we both have a lot of cosmetic and structural changes before either stadium "looks" like an FBS stadium.

So, you're really saying your high school's stadium looks to be more FBS ready than Georgia Southern's? 05-stirthepot

Maybe we should be looking to add a few Texas high schools.

81% of their graduates go on to college. Who cares if they are good their alumni will watch in style. That's Dallas for you.

Now that is a nice facility. Are those bars on either side with TV's? What does it cost in donations and season tix to sit there? What benefits are provided (free food, drinks, air conditioned area during the game)?

GSU is going to convert an existing building into something similar, but far less grand. Really hope we expand are building and seating to enclose that end of the field.

There are a lot of things GSU needs to do and some things that would simply make it look nicer (and on par with other FBS schools). I really like TxSt.'s stadium and what they have planned for it.

These are things GSU will look at when future expansions are made to Paulson.

We haven't broken ground yet so the costs and benefits are to TBD. Those are video screens and bars. My guess is that we break ground next spring but we could do it in phases and start on the practice facility earlier.

I like that expansion, but I'm not sure who goes to a football game to sit at a bar and watch it on TV. I'll stick with drinking at the tailgate and have my seat face the field.

Finally we are making some big improvements to Paulson. It really is amazing what can happen when you have an A.D. and President fully committed to athletics. We have some work to do without a doubt but we have the people in place now to get things done.

I know what you mean, maybe it's for when you are waiting on your favorite beverage (or meal) and don't wanna miss the action. 03-drunk

Been to Appy's place and it is ok. Once you get rid of the track and horseshoe in one side it'll be nice. Just need to work on the exterior appearance.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what GSU's (Paulson Stadium) will look like in 2014. Also, I'm sure there are plans being made to expand the home side and redo the luxury/press boxes. When that is done GSU will have a very nice place to watch the best (option) team in the nation (yes I'm biased).
04-cheers

I'm actually looking forward to making some trips to other SBC stadiums. 04-rock
It'll be sooooo much better than the cozy confines of Woffy or Samford.

If it gets someone to buy a ticket and spend money then I don't care what they do. I will be watching the game and yelling enough for the people at the bar.
