Well ya can't blame him for "moving up" as they say. Isn't that what everyone at WKU is doing these days!

Hahaha I kid, I kid04-cheers

Ahhh. Here we go again, usually those coach rankings/job speculations don't appear until mid-late football season. Gets real scary after the last regular season home game.

Fed us the "WKU is in my blood" bulllshit. Then left after allowing a late season collapse because he didn't give a ****.

Yeah, I'm bitter. I hope he fails. I hope USF is the last coaching job he gets.

I think this is the last season Hudspeth is at Louisiana. I think he will get the call from a BCS school at the end of the next season so long as he has a successful season. That is unless he's like a Chris Peterson at Boise who just chooses to stay because he believes in the program. That or Louisiana comes off some money.

I don't blame Willie at all...he went home. Gets to see his family a lot more and I still believe WKU is in his DNA but not as much as his mothers.

He didn't leave for money..only about 50k difference and while most would consider USF a upgrade over Western...it's not that huge of a jump. So I believe him when he said it was to get closer to his family. Three years from now and he's taking another job, I will say I was wrong. But I don't think so.

And there isn't a coach, coaching, that would tank it at any point in the season and especially not Willie. He hate losing.

Hudspeth would have been #1 on my list. He brought North Alabama back after they had been swimming in mediocrity for years. When he left Florence UNA was in a much better place than what they were when he took over. The job he has done at Louisiana is remarkable in my opinion. Louisiana has been struggling for years and in just a few years he has made them one of the best programs in the Sun Belt.

Extremely happy with our HC hire. Will be a couple of rough seasons in 2013 and 2014. But we have the right guy.

No she doesn't

I think Hud will be in Lafayette for at least the 2013 and 2014 seasons. If things continue as they are anticipated for this year, the Cajuns will have the best team in the history of the school in 2014, and will be poised for a BCS run, with good, but winnable OOC matchups with La Tech and Boise.

After 2014, we just hope he is like Peterson, and we will throw about $1.5 million his way to help him decide.

I agree with you Guns. Being close to home was the main reason for the move. I doubt there were many jobs that he would've left WKU for. Personally I hope Willie does well.

Reminds me of the same situation with Skip Holtz leaving East Carolina to go to South Florida to be close to his relatives, until he went to La. Tech. Always makes you wonder if it's the real reason, or if the realized they moved away from home for some reasons.

Skip was fired, he didn't voluntarily leave USF.
