bamaEagle - While you're correct on the fact that our visitor locker room is needing a restructure, as it was previously built back in the D2 days, it doesn't take that much work to design and modify. This isn't an issue for JSU... Our more pressing issue, spoken from the mouth of our AD, is that JSU is looking to build a new basketball arena sooner rather than later. I think the math has been done, and JSU will probably build new instead of remodeling the old...

Everyone else - I know that the basketball attendance sucks for us, but please keep in mind that the current arena seating has ZERO student section allowance. Meaning, the students don't show up. If you were to see our crowd you'd see old-timers, the band, a few familes, some football players, but NO GREEKS OR STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS. The plan is to design a new facility with close to 6k seats.

You are spot on about the arena. It could be the worst arena design I have ever seen. I hope JSU gets a new arena soon.

You haven't seen Strahan, have you? 03-lmfao

It's so strange to watch how Troy and JSU continue to progress along VERY similar paths. They're both very similar universities (main campus wise for Troy). It seems like Jax. St. has all the problems Troy had at one time or another and you guys are just 10 years behind us on things. I don't mean that as a knock on Jax. St. at all. Just an observation.

We renovate our stadium and add a big new pressbox. Several years down the line Jax. St. does as well and builds a very similar looking pressbox. We build a new arena that sits 5-6K, because our old one was just a high school gym. Jax. St. prepares to build an arena to seat 6K. It's kind of eery really.

Maybe the long term plan is to make it double as an IMAX theater?

Not sure were following Troy anymore than other universities but maybe Troy will soon follow us and improve your softball and tennis facilities. Its the nature of most things, someone has probably done something before you.

from our site...jsugamecocksports.com

This is a video tour of the fieldhouse, but go about 2 minutes to pass the trophy stuff... at 6:48 you can see the corner of the stadium and up in the corner is the visitor locker room...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...8t19YGM6Qc

I couldn't find a pic of the visitors locker room, but it's needing to be rebuilt for sure.

Georgia Southern does not have enough space for a FBS visiting team locker currently. Our new endzone building will more than fix that though which will be ready before the 2014 season.

That's a decent looking stadium. Hopefully they have plans to move the track like we do.
