Andrew Jackson #1 rated ILBer for the 2014 draft
According to Scout WKU ILBer Andrew Jackson is rated #1 on the 2014 draft board.

I never thought WKU would have a player like this with a program so young. I'm not sure this equals a 1st round pick but we all know he'll go day 1 with another great seaon.

Isn't the first round the only round on day 1 now that they've switched to primetime for day 1?

If Jackson has another great season, he should get a combine invite, his combine performance will likely dictate if he goes 1st or 2nd round.

I'm no draft expert but I would imagine that if he has another year like last year that he will deffinately be drafted in the first round.

Here's to him having a great year with an off day on 10/26 04-cheers

I just worry Jackson won't thrive on a Petrino Offense-Oriented team.

My big fear:

He's really 5'10"
and he runs a 4.7

Other than that....he's one bad dude! I love his attitude and this hit on 4th & 1 against Troy:

4.7 is not such a big deal, 5'10 would be. He can still come out and impress and convince someone he's the next Zach Thomas and it just takes convincing one team.

The best non-hit I ever saw was during the WKU/S.Miss game.

After WKU laid out 2 S.Miss QB's... S. Miss threw a screen pass and the receiver could have made the first down easily if he was willing to take a hit and maybe could have made it without a hit.

He's about a yard from the 1st down (3rd down play) looks up sees Andrew Jackson bearing down about 3 yards from him and he steps out of bounds. Happened right in front of me and you could see the fear in the players eyes. On the sidelines the receivers coach grabbed the kid and cussed his butt out.

But I don't blame the kid...Toppers were hitting that day, knocked 4 S.Miss players out of the game and the 2 QB's with in a few plays of each other and close to the play I'm talking about.

Not throwing stones at Mr. Jackson a very worthy opponent, but was he that big of a get on recruiting day? Did he turn down BAMA, LSU, FLORIDA, OHIO STATE, both USC schools. So if he did congratulations, but if not he is just another success story. Willie Rolf of LTU a number one pick, Terry Bradshaw a number one pick, Walter, Sweetness, Payton out of Jackson State post integration, Mean Joe Green out of N Texas.

Point is I see no reason to be overly proud of "getting" him. Maybe you should be overly proud of Taggert for seeing his potential.

I think Quanterus Smith is a better prospect than Jackson. He played very dirty in our game against him in 2012, took some late shots on our QB IIRC.

i don't believe he was a taggert get.

i believe eLLLLLLLLLLLon's asst. was on him and willie retained the asst. coach. i also believe grades might have been a problem until late in the game.

that said.....andrew was banged up last year and to my 'eye test' (i know the appy state folks invalidate my eye test but i don't care) put on some weight.

if he's fully healthy this year he will be a beast.
