Louisville Player Injury
Louisville player today snapped his shin playing against Duke.

Here's the video. Do not watch it if you are squeamish and/or can't take seeing bad injuries.

Again, DO NOT WATCH if you're feint of heart (like me)

If you have not seen it you are lucky. Turn away now. Most gruesome injury I've ever seen

I debated with myself whether to watch or not. And I decided to watch it. Mistake.

My reaction was pretty much like the player with the towel that's sitting on the bench.

So....was that his bone sticking out of the skin?

You must be talking about the football game at Marshall. I was watching that live and immediately
thought of all the people that want us to take out our track at App State and thought it may have
been good to have that track around the field to let receivers slow down and not get injured.

I just don't understand how that happened, he didn't come down awkward or anything. It just kind of snapped.

Yep, found it:

The band cart should never have been there. I guess they had nowhere else to pull the carts through?

Yes.

That is much worse than watching a video of Joe Theismann, Washington Redskins QB, injury in 1985.

That's kind of why my sister after taking nursing for four years in college decided to change to accounting, after being assigned to the emergency room, with two months left in school and spent another two years getting her accounting degree.

Was watching it live and looked away for a minute. The wife came in and asked what happened and I didn't know so we made the mistake of rewinding it - big mistake. Worst sports injury I've ever seen. At least in football, stuff like that is covered, while here bone was just poking right out for the world to see.

We have LaRyan Gary have a just as gruesome injury when he was a sophomore or junior. He drove baseline and went up for the dunk and his leg exploded. It was disturbing to see., but not the worst basketball related injury I have witnessed.

I once saw a kid go up for a rebound and land wrong, breaking both bones in his lower leg. The Tibia punctured the floor in Blackham Colosseum. It sounded like a shotgun when it broke.

I was watching it live also. Hate to see anyone, but especially a college kid playing in such an important game to him and his school have something like that happen.
Must have just been all the force put on that leg the way he came down. Hope to never see that kind of thing again ever.

my stomach is literally uneasy after watching that and I am usually not phased by that stuff. We had a player, Todor Pandov, that had an injury almost that bad in the first game of the season. He came back the next year and played. It is amazing what doctors and rehab can do.

If it's worse than Joe Theismann, I'm not watching it.

I would argue that it is significantly worse than Joe Theisman. Don't watch it. It made me physically ill to see it. Praying for that kid right now.

Debating on watching when I get home. Was it worse than the Alabama receiver from a few years back? That made me a little light headed.

It was so bad that the Louisville players collapsed to the floor seconds after it happened.

His leg bent a way that legs are not meant to bend.

RE: Louisville Player Injury
Gotta give credit to Rick and his players. What an incredible example of "team" and why we compete. As Ware is on the ground screaming his teammates come over to hold his hands. He says repeatedly "don't worry about me, I'll be ok, go win the game" and Louisville rallies to blow out a very well coached Duke team. It was obvious in the second half that Louisville was playing for something much bigger than "the game" as they completely outplayed the Blue Devils. I don't see them losing another game. They already had the talent, now they have a passion that you simply cannot recreate. It was special to see Ware's jersey held up by teammates during the celebration. Moving.
