If ASU and ULL depart as they desire, what would be the vibe for adding Wichita State and Missouri State to the SBC for all sports? According to reports, Wichita State is moving forward with its football plans and desire to be DI at that sport. The additions would definitely enhance the SBCs basketball side.

When I wrote out my original dream SBC Expansion, I had Ga Southern, App, Missouri State, and Wichita State as my 4 teams. The idea was that if we got Missouri State to move, it would basically destroy the Missouri Valley, and would give us a good shot at picking up Wichita State.
Then we went and picked up NMSU and Idaho and my plans were ruined.

Missouri St is about the 4th best program in the MVC.. WSU, Illinois St, Northern Iowa and maybe Southern Illinois are all more attractive.

Possibly, but Missouri State, Creighton, and Wichita State have been pretty much the face of that league. The rest of you guys just don't have the name recognition, outside of potentially Indiana State from the Larry Bird years.

Creighton and WSU yes, Mizzou State? Not a chance, guess I missed what they have done.. Being in Big Ten country, most people are completely unaware of them.

Southern Illinois used to have some good football teams back when WKU was in the Gateway. Their basketball is usually solid, too.

If you could get both the Shockers and Missouri State into the Sun Belt as full members with the stipulation that Wichita State add football would be very good for the Sun Belt all the way around. Baseball may jump into the 4th or 5th best league in the country.

I've been surprised that Southern Illinois hasn't been part of any discussions....at least that I've read or heard about. From a geographical perspective, there's not very much difference between them and WKU. Then again, there's already enough gripe from some about so many FCS teams jumping up, so I guess it isnt all that surprising I guess....glad we were in the conversation since they weren't.

Mizzou St is the 5th best athletic program and aren't getting any better, several better options out of the MVC.. Illinois St delivers a ton more, better athletics, better facilities, better academics, better market..
