RE: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament becoming the BIG EAST Invitational...

Georgetown 2 seed lost to 15 seed FGCU-Atlantic Sun
Only 3 of 8 survived the first round. As a favorite, BE schools were 3-3 in the first round. The East semi-finals were the first BE wins against a higher seed. 1985 was a great year for the BE. This year, not particularly impressive yet.
There's a very good chance that 50% of the Final Four will be BIG EAST teams and it's only that low because two BIG EAST teams played each other in the Elite Eight. None the less, 3/8 Elite Eight teams and 1-2/4 Final Four teams is impressive. Saying it's not is a clear indication that you don't watch basketball.
To put things in perspective, this was supposed to be the B1G's year and the B1G only send 3 teams to the Elite Eight and there is a very good chance that the B1G won't send any to the Final Four. At best, the B1G will equal the BIG EAST. Saying the BIG EAST is not impressive in basketball this year is like saying the SEC wasn't impressive in football this year because UF lost to UL in the Sugar Bowl and because LSU lost to Clemson in the Chick-Fil-a Bowl.
