Does the SBC HAVE TO go to 12?
Unless there is some financial gain, I no longer see the benefit.

There has to be a financial gain, otherwise it makes absolutely no sense at all In today's FCS world it has to be about money.

11 is such a mess for scheduling, if one is lost, the league will go to 12.

I think it will happen for balance of power and travel reasons anyway.

Losing WKU puts the east at five votes vs. the Ark-La-Tex six, but that is skewed by the fact you've got two non-football schools that in reality make the balance 4/5 in favor of the east.

The Sun Belt is becoming a southeastern league. If one is lost, we add in the southeast because that's how it balances out for travel concerns and philosophy.

Yeah, I get that, but why did we go to 12 in the first place?

Also, you're right about the SBC now a southeastern league. In fact, we should embrace that big time and go hunting for some basketball schools to spice things up a little in addition to those FCS schools out east that have money.

Is Virginia in the southeast?

They are definitely a southern state and I don't think they are west or central.

I think the future of this league, if it wants one, will be with an Eastern Seaboard Division and a Southern Division.

Texas State
UT Arlington
Arkansas State
UA Little Rock
ULM
Louisiana
Troy
South Alabama

Georgia State
Georgia Southern
Belmont
College of Charleston
Appalachain State
James Madison
Liberty
Delaware
