Is the white one an entirely different manufacturer? Ignoring color it is quite different from the gold one. The intelligent people at UAB have been doing studies on how to reduce concussions.

The gold is a Riddell Revolution, the white is a Schutt DNA Pro+. UAB uses Riddell Revos, Riddell VSR4s, Riddell Revo Speeds, Schutt DNAs, Schutt XPs, and Xenith X1s.

I like it a lot. Let's wait to see what it looks like at night before we decide it's ugly, since reportedly it's designed to be under the lights.

I liked the Callaway uniforms too, a lot, but the new ones have grown on me. Especially the UAB with the flames. Also, unbiased observers tell me the gold pants looked stupid.

Getting our fans to wear the same color shirt on the road is like herding cats.

That said just win. I don't care if its kilts either.

I suggest we focus on getting folks there, stringing together two winning seasons in a row, and making a bowl game before we start worrying about uniform tradition. Just a thought.

I'm really warming up to an all-white uniform for at least one road game. The fans can wear whatever.

I really, really want white turf at Legion Field too. I know no one will take that seriously, but the turf probably needs to be replaced anyway, and white really offsets the flames and gold well. It would get crazy publicity for the program too.

I saw this thread earlier in the day, but didn't click it. I knew it would eventually be a long one with everyone complaining.

I will never understand why football fans become fashion divas when it comes to uniforms. Incongruous to say the least.

I like the white helmets. They could wear them for the entire season, so that as the season progresses, the helmets become gradually riddled with paint scratches, grass stains, cleat marks and.....big play award stickers. Every season they all get a new helmet and get to keep their old one.
