Love that Sanibel Island area. Good winter trip.

Hey guys. I have been on the move with very limited access. Is it okay for to speak up for FGCU one more time?

The Sun Belt needs to get back into Florida, FGCU looks like the only somewhat viable option, but it's still a tad early to pull the trigger. Let them decide they're definitely adding football and that they have a good plan in place, and then maybe they merit serious discussion, but for now, there is a pretty solid list of candidates, none of whom were division II two years ago.
You can now fully expect football within 5 years now. Both Baseball and Basketball teams are doing well. The enrollment expectations will evolve more rapidly.

Not sure what "stuck in southewest corner of Florida" means. UM is "stuck in southeast corner of Florida", Troy is "stuck in southeast corner of Alabama"
I am not suggesting that FGCU is a viable candidate for SBC in the next five years or more, as I feel that SBC should be looking to add existing football programs (FBS or FCS), however discounting FGCU and their location is a mistake. Lee County (where FGCU is located) has over 300,000 residents, Collier County which is directly south of Lee County, includes Naples (approx. 25 miles form FGCU) one of the wealthier cities in the country. FGCU does not have a large alumni base due to being only 16 years old, but the base is growing and they have a large number of non-alumni in the area that provide great support to the university and its athletics. Their WBB and volleyball programs have been successful from the beginning, their MBB appears to be moving in the right direction and their baseball (Chris Sale of the White Sox is a former FGCU Eagle) and softball programs are solid as well.
And I believe the recent exposure is going to make a few more athletes take a look at FGCU.
And last, their are a lot of worst places than SW Florida to be stuck in. FGCU has a beautiful campus and good athletic facilities.

For basketball, lets ban teams playing non-Div I and institute a minimum average RPI (based upon last years rankings) for OOC.
The Mountain West figured out that throwaway home games against DII schools are better than throwaway home games against bottom of the DI. The DII games don't exist as far as the RPI is concerned., but teams still get another home game to sell, and another W to pad the public record.

Stetson is probably closer to Sun Belt membership than FGCU is. The Hatters start football games this fall and have a stadium, as well as I-A membership in all other sports. Stetson beat FGCU in basketball this season.
