Hooters, getting ready to watch the game and feeling classy. Thinking of how me and Dahbeed would slay this joint...Gabby says hello.

Enjoy it! I've often wondered what it would be like to see my Bobcats play in a game like that, so I don't mind saying I'm a bit jealous.

No bigger thrill. Playing in a minor bowl game can't touch it.

You're sitting at... the big boy table. Playing for THE national championship.

If ya'll win tonight tell me that wouldn't be a bigger thrill than a bowl win that ends your season.

Winning the play-in game bigger than our NOB victory...01-wingedeagle

A win Thursday I'd give you, but that's largely to do with the opponent.

That's true for you but for me it would depend on the opponent...that's the way life works: everyone has their own opinion and perspective.

it's the culture of the respective states.

little boys in tennessee grow up wearing orange chucking footballs in the front yard.

little boys in kentucky grow up wearing blue shooting hoops in the driveway.

both are fine.

p.s. i know we can un-brainwash the orange and blue out of 'em.

Funny thing is I always wanted to play basketball. Never could make the team...I could knock the hide off of a baseball.

pretty good beisbol played in both states.

but by and large the major sport dominates each state.

Different experiences.

We took 2,000 to our first and so far only NCAA appearance which was luckily in New Orleans. That is a blast but it all happens so fast. In MTSU's case you find out Sunday and you are playing on Tuesday. At the very best you find out Sunday and play Friday. It really limits the number of fans that come.

The joint experience of 10,000 or more of your fans in another city for a couple nights for a bowl game is amazing.

On a national scale the NCAA Tournament is fantastic because you are part of the premier event of the sport but it is a lesser fan unity experience.

When the NCAA was toying with going to 96 to increase the money, my thought was they could achieve basically the same thing by having the round of 64 on Thursday-Sunday and eliminate the daytime games on work days. Let the round of 64 winners go home and get a hero welcome before playing the round of 32 the next week. More primetime = more TV money.
